I just washed and waxed my new E (probably should have read this first, *sigh*). I used TurtleWax and managed to get a bunch on the plastic fenders.

Needless to say, its stained and not coming off. I just did it this afternoon, tried the Windex solution here and it didnt work.

Anyone know of ANYTHING to get this stuff off, or lose the stain?

Thanks in advance.

Someone was posting about a product to clean the plastic panels, made by Griot's Garage I believe.

Here's the link to the thread:

Use PB...that's right. Peanut Butter! Picked that one up from the local BMW owners club. I figgure if they're gonna put food on their $40k cars, why shouldn't we?

Also..yer plain ol' No. 2 eraser will work. At least with these two "remedies" you won't hafta go buy anything new!

Pls note: I am not a sponsor nor have I been paid by Jiffy nor Mead! :lol

PEANUT BUTTER?!?!?!?!?

  :!:

Okay, if you use PB, only use the smooth kind. If you use Skippy SuperChunk (the ONLY kind of PB in my house!) the peanut chunks could scratch your plastic.

That Peanut Butter trick is awesome. I came back from a trip with chewing gum strings all over the doors and the plastic panels. Peanut Butter rubbed in lightly with a finger did the trick.

Oh, and for the next wax job, try using a plastic painters shield to guard the plastic from wax smears. I got a 15" one from Home depot that is flexible enough to go around the curves and all. I also use it to protect the paint when I treat the plastic with 303 Aerospace protectant.

WOW... the peanut butter worked, not a spec of discoloration left!!! That you very much for that tip - I heard it elsewhere but dismissed it.

I'm also very happy my daughter prefers creamy over chunky, it helped avoid complications :p

I had some streaks under both drivers doors after going through a touchless wash using no wax (supposedly), I laughed at the peanut butter but figured what the heck! Well guess what, it worked, now I'm sold on it . Just use plain creamy P.B., rub a little dab on the spot with your finger, wipe with a damp sponge, and dry with a paper towel. It's great!!
