This has probably been covered SOMEWHERE in the forum, but I can't find it.
In Olympia, they demo'ed how fast a car could be "stripped" using a Honda Element.

Seems like cheating to me. :-)
I saw a news video of part of this. They never removed the engine and made a big deal of yanking the back seats out and tossing them outside and taking off the front grill and a bunch of other stuff designed for easy owner maintenance and replacement. Taking off wheels...there's a challenge???
They never removed the engine or anything serious.
Seemed to sort of miss the point. Most scum would just take the whole car, and leisurely strip it at their well equipped chop shop.
Second point is....Who would steal an Element? :-)
Now breaking in and trashing the car looking for valuables at a trail head. THAT is something to be concerned about. And something that would be nice if they could do SOME stake outs of the rampant trail head crime, instead of putting ALL their resources on traffic traps.
