I am looking at possibly getting an E this week and I am looking at the 2007 EX. I am loved by 4 greyhounds and am wondering what anyone has done to keep your doggies from slipping in the back when you are driving? I usually drive with 2 at a time for grooming and outings etc

Thanks!

Hooray! Glad you're getting closer.

My own suggestions are here (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=283901&postcount=11) and here (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=283009&postcount=11).

Try one of our site sponsors that makes a carpet kit for the E (can't think of the name of the company). Or you could buy the OEM honda carpet mats, or even go to a carpet remnant store and get a big piece and cut it to shape for the entire back of the E. There are lots of solutions out there.

Gidget (Samoyed) mostly rides on the back seats that I keep reclined. A large beach blanket gives her grip.

Dog or not, I recommend the "Elemat." Here's a long thread about those. Protects your floor and is less slippery. I have black "steel."

I bought a 6x8 piece of carpet from home depot and trimmed it to fit.Over top of that i toss a blanket and with the harness....no sliding around for my golden.

Having 2 dogs myself (and have had as many as 5 in the E at once including one greyhound), I know the problem you face ;)

I looked at carpet but knowing dogs I wanted something more easily washable than carpet or mats. So I got several padded moving blankets (http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200331654_200331654) such as that (although that particular one is WAY larger than needed) then I ziptied several small woodworking spring clamps to the 4 metal anchor points hear the floor in the back. The result is a great surface that the dogs grip very well but can also easily be changed, thrown in the wash, and put back in with a minimum of hassle :)

I made my own mats out of those cheap kids puzzle mats at Sam's Club. $20, a utility knife, and 15 minutes later, I has custom mats for my E. Kept my mastiffs from sliding around and when they get torn up, I can buy all new ones and not feel bad about wasting money!

Schweet setup, samlobo, I like the multicolor look of it :D You'll have to let us know how long they last!

I've had the puzzle mats in my car for almost 2 years. And that includes a cross country and back trip. They are just starting to show wear, I had to take them out of the front, but the back should be good through the summer.
Mine are just black ... I might have to go with the color combo!!!
