Hi All,
Well, i just picked up my E at the dealer tonight and i love it already!
Sorry about the lack of pics, but it's pouring rain here and it was pretty dark by the time i got home so it wouldn't have made for good photos.
Anyhow, i was just wondering if anyone has any pics of their dogs harnessed or leashed in the element. My dog (the little angel) will be accompanying me tomorrow and i just want to see how you all tie them up.
Thanks so much and it's good to be here :) you've all make me feel so welcome already :):)

I have posted this before but here you go...
The two who are strapped in have their own harnesses on, and there is a strap hooked to the harness that hooks into the seat belt adapter in the E. Ther other two were just jealous and had to get in the E!
The adjustable strap has two seatbelt adapters that fit all the vehicles we have used them in (one or the other). Got it at petsmart for about 14.99. I have two and use a coupler on each when taking all four iglets on a playdate.

We harness these guys, they love to ride in the E.

The harness lets them lay down, sit up, yet it keeps them from becoming 'puppy projectiles'
(which would be a bad thing)

I guess what i'm looking for is pics of dogs tied up in the back with no seats. I got the E for the dog so he could roam in the back, but after reading all the posts, the consensus seems to be to tie them to the hooks or crate them.
Thanks :)

I transport Saint Bernards in the back. I don't use the harness (well honestly I only have one that will fit a Saint) and what I do when I'm hauling more than one is to fold the seats up, use a standard lead and loop it to the floor (where the seats latch) and then just hook the dogs to that. It works well, but I also have a barrier behind the drivers seat.

I don't have any pictures, but next time I will make some. I'm not so sure how well they would survive in a major accident, but it does eliminate any fears of the rescue dogs 'bolting' out the door unexpectedly .

My dogs love going for rides so much that I practically have to drag them out of a vehicle. One of my dogs actually jumped into a cable repairman's van once. So I leave the leashes on them (for easy grabbings), but I don't attach them to anything. I have three giant breed dogs, so I have to completely remove the seats to get all three (comfortably) into the back (they'll fit with the seats folded up against the sides, but they're pretty crowded that way).

I was planning on taking a photo with all of them in the back today, but the day sort of got away from me. I'll post more dog pictures over the weekend though. My husband loves to take photos of the dogs!

Yea, ours love to ride too. The only reason we harness them is prevention, to me it just makes sense.

I work with NC Saint Bernard Rescue (http://ncsaintrescue.petfinder.com) so I'm always picking up dogs from shelters and whatnot. I don't want to take the chance of one of them jumping out an open door - chances are something bad would come of it.

Would love to see the big boys, I'm sightly partial to the big boys too.

Those two are Baxter and Dexter. Those two and Boomer (our saint) will be going on the Spring Fling with us. :)

I need to buy three harnesses for my dogs for my road trip next week. Any ideas on if the "travel harnesses" are any stronger than regular ones? If you are in a wreck at highway speeds there is going to be a lot of stress on the clips. Also, I can just imagine the 3 of them getting into a tangled mess, any ways to prevent this?

This looks like a great product! Today I got the new Drs. Foster and Smith catalogue and this item reminded me of this thread. This is a very reasonably priced substantial harness ($25 for large). Comes in sm-med-kg-x-xl

I'd hook it up to one of the back tiedowns.

Item # ABA-28276

Hi...here is a pic of my dog...complete with new harness attached to the back and chillin. Just bought the harness yesterday and it's a great product. It's from a canadian company called RC pets. It's a 3 in one apparently...seat belt, walking harness, and protective vest.

ok, went and spent lots of money on 3 travel harnesses for my road trip last weekend. Well within a few hours Briley, figured out how to get out of his. So I put it back on, then next time I looked back, all 3 were out of them. They must be Houndinis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow...i can't believe your pooches got out of the harnesses! that's tough to do! What if you tighten them more? Or make the tether shorter? they won't like it but they'll be safe! Good Luck :)

The harnesses felt tight to me but probably could have been tighter. I had it tethered to the cargo tie downs, will have to try again against road trip.

Here's just the leash and how I got it attached in the last photo. Works GREAT for me and Sophie. She can get to every window except mine:wink: She can get to about a foot and a half from getting all the way to the front window. Wouldn't want her going through in an accident or if I had to slam on the brakes. Sophie also wears a harness that I clip her into.... These are the only pics I got so far. The red leash is our "walking around" leash.and when she gets into the E I unclip her from the red leash and clip her into the green one that's always attached in the E.

The first one was before I made the platform for the both of us, (mainly her.. LOL).

Here's Dexter in his booster seat. He's harnessed in but the seat is ideal for "height challenged" dogs so that they can see out the windows.

Look at that! He is too cute! Where did you find that seat for him? Is it secured with the seat belt of does it tie around the seat with its own system? I need to find something like this for my little dog. She always needs to see where we're going and the only way she can do that is with help. Something like that seat would be ideal.
