Hey all,

I just joined here and became a proud owner of my Element on Saturday!

My 2000 Saturn SL2 needed some work and the Blue Book value was under what the repairs were, so we (me and my wife) decided to get something new and reliable for me.

Checked kbb.com to see what people are paying for the 2WD EX AT and had my mind made up that the AWD wasn't worth the price. Got to the dealership and test drove the (now "my") Tango Red AWD EX AT and liked it a lot.
I found out that the skylight is not on the 2WD and kind of liked that feature.
Long story short, the sales guy was very nice and told me features that weren't worth the money (iPod connector, etc.) and he presented me with the price.

My wife and I just looked at each other and didn't say anything and he says, "ok, ok, I'll give you the AWD for the price of the 2WD and we'll throw in the cargo cover, skylight screen, and TTL (tags, title, registration)."

Deal!

So we got a great price, the 3.9% financing, and a good experience.
We got the extended warranty, since we felt that it would be beneficial to have.

I'm loving it so far! I drive about 50 miles a day round-trip and it's great. I think I'll keep the XM going if I get that $77/year deal and I really like having the subwoofer in the car. I listen to a lot of dub, reggae, and ska.

Anything I don't like so far? Not really...I wish the center had a bit of a console for storage, but I've seen the eBay ones on here, etc.
I really like the little features of the car...the sunglasses clip on the inside of the pop-open door where the overhead driver lights are. I like the visors extending as a whole, neat concept (though I know some on here don't like them much). I also love...stress this point...that the seats fold up to the side of the interior!! I also really like the floor covering. It makes me feel like it'll last. All I have to do is take a wet rag and I can clean it up, really nice!

I live in Oklahoma and it's nice to pass some other Element owners and get waves. Nice community with the car.

I'm trying to decide what I want to do to it now...lol, the mods have me itching to do something to it, but not sure what.

Thanks!! This forum is really great so far.

Welcome to the EOC, doubledangerbat.

Great to have you here.

Here are a few pictures of my E and the mods I have done.

I hope you can make it out to the National E-vent this year. Plan to go if you can I have attended both so far and they are "Fantastic" (tm)

If you can't make this year plan ahead for next year. You will not be disappointed.

Welcome to the club! We had a similar very pleasant experience at our Honda dealer, after having a horrible experience at a Toyota dealer. I wonder if Honda dealers are just of a different frame of mind...

Just had ours a couple weeks. I've got my front windows tinted to match the back and I love it. Also love the carpet floor mats. Much cheaper to get them online rather than through the dealer.

I noticed you old-timers have the sidesteps on your E's. I'm thinking of adding them. Do they come in handy? They don't make the frame too low, do they? Ever scrape the street? I like the look!

Welcome, great color choice!! Great deal!!

Watch out for mod fever. If you notice my signature, those mods are only after 3 weeks of owning the car.

Have fun.

Thank you for the warm welcomes! I'm glad to be here.
So far I'm loving the car.

Sadly, the dealer automatically charged me $45 for installing the cargo cover...which needs no installation, so I'll fight that out over the phone today. Ugh, dealers.

Other than that though, great experience.

As a TRP owner welcome! The AWD will pay for itself -- I learned that in driving thru my 1st rainstorm on hilly roads!

:) It's always a pleasure to welcome new members to the EOC. I've had my Element for just over two years and love it. My son will be driving in two years and will inherit my E. Then I can go out and get a brand new Element with all the cookies. I can hardly wait.

Again, welcome. I like the color. Mine is the Galapagos Green.
