itmight be early to start this thread but I want to have a meet and greet in North Bend Wa. at my house.I am going to grill some ribs and chicken. Jan is making cheese potatoes, and salad. It is set for the 21st of july. I can park at least 50 elements in the front yard alone! In the evening we can have a camp fire (a small one if it's too dry),and you can pitch a tent, or sleep in your E. if you stay real late. So tell me what you think, bring your kids, animals, partners, bring your own beverages, my water comes from a spring, and it tastes great.no bottled water here! more details later.

I could make scones for the morning!?!? (Psst, Bill/outofd, did you hear that? Scones ... come on Bill ... it's even out your way ...)

Interesting... very interesting! :)

I like the idea, especailly since it's close to Seattle (think gas prices by then *shudder*). I can try out my E/tent setup, and plus, I just love that neck of the woods.

Barring some unforseen conflicting event that that would keep me elswhere that weekend, I'll be very glad to have the chance to see some old faces and meet many new ones.

It would be really cool if Paulj and crew could come down, too, if even for a little while... I've been learning a lot from his posts (he's an all-round E-guru in my book) and would like to finally get a chance to put a face to the postings. :D

The Es can quietly graze while we celebrate!

I'll make a sincere effort to attend this one. Work has been crazy lately, but that's all the more reason to head up to North Bend!

And Beatbox and the Nav-E-Gator had a lovely little boy! Hopefully they'll be able to come by.

Thanks again to Poppa Smurf for offering up his place. I'm really looking forward to this event!

sounds fun, Poppa Smurf is there a fence for the dogs to run around?

poppa smurf
05-25-2007, 08:46 PM
there is fence all around the lower field, except for where the elk have stumbled over it. I'll make sure it is repaired before the BBQ. the elk can easly clear the fence they are just lazy. If your dog is a jumper they could get over the fence.

1) you like to fish?
2) you like to ride bikes?
3)you like to hike?
4)you like to sightsee?
5)You like to shop?
Well you can do it all in North bend. We have a crystal clear lake, great for fishing, hiking, and sightseeing. Snoqualmie falls is very picturesque. Miles of bike trails to ride, and you can shop til you drop at the outlet mall. So I hope that you all make plans to visit North bend, and come to my barb E que on july 21 2007

I've been eyeballing this thread ever since I got my E about 4 weeks ago. This is the closest gathering I've seen to where I live (Idaho). I haven't even been able to find anyone here yet who is from Idaho! I think it sounds like it would be a lot of fun to go to this barbecue. But it would be about a 7 hour drive. Maybe if I left RIGHT after work on Friday....oh wait, but the barbecue is Saturday---an all day affair? Maybe if I left super early Saturday morning. Hmmmmm, I'll have to think this one over. What are the usual temps around that time of year?

Seattle SC
06-24-2007, 10:01 PM
Jane, the bunch that will be at this bbq is a great crowd, and worth the drive.
More than likely temps will be in the high 70's day / low 60's night. Possibly in the 80's tho, that does happen on occasion.

I have to work until 6pm, so won't be there until 7. But I plan to stay up late. :D

Hi guys! I'll answer for poppa cuz he's actually not home and said he's on a dial-up connection (:???: )! Las Vegas was fantastic, the Elements were looking great, and all the people were very nice. There are somewhere around a bajillion pictures and videos in the National Meet thread. And everyone's not done posting their pics yet!

Seven hours is definitely a drive, but come on over ... we'll have fun and you can always sleep the next day. :)

It was great. I've gone further in my car, but my driving buddy has only gone to lunch and stuff in it - he said it did just fine. He thought it was comfortable and performed without any trouble. You've gotta gas it going up some of the hills, but it still GOES.

Glad to hear you'll be joining us, Holden. There should be a really good showing! But heck, I've had fun at some pretty small meets too!

Junebug
06-27-2007, 11:47 PM
Hey, those of you coming to poppa's bbq ... is anyone interested in buying my used Honda front all-weather mat and/or my rear black diamond Elemmat and tailgate mat? I'd rather sell and "deliver" to the meet than ship these things. They're heavy and awkward. I haven't figured out a price yet, but I want to get the black steel pattern mats and won a gift certificate to Elemmat at the National Meet. Gotta sell something to make the other money! I also have the tray and cupholder liners.

Let me know if you might be interested!

2orange4U
06-28-2007, 09:08 AM
Junebug,
good idea. what is the back mat your talking about?
I have the stock Honda wheels if anyone is interested also. hey we might have a swap meet going here..LOL

Junebug
06-28-2007, 10:31 AM
It's the full back mat and tailgate protector, as found here (https://2694224993.monstercommercesites.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=15). They are the black diamond pattern with chair flaps. I'd like to sell the whole set (back mat, tailgate protector, and liners) together, and would sell the front one separately.

Yours is actually a 2007, right? Or do you have the '03 black steelies?

The front mat is this one (http://www.handa-accessories.com/elementint.html) (All Season Floor Mats), and I've got it cut for the subwoofer.

outofd
06-28-2007, 05:48 PM
Hi Trina, seems that they will fit both our cars. I would like to have them for my winter tires but do not need them. So not a must have for me if you need them. We can work it out over a cold one with 2 orange for you. Also there might be other elements coming to the picnic with spare wheels. Will you have enough scones for a two day supply for 30+ elements. I think popa smurf will be surprised at the turnout unless it rains heavy or snows. Best wishes, Bill,

Junebug
06-28-2007, 08:33 PM
You know what Bill ... I really want the black steelies cuz I like the how the black tires aren't set apart from the wheels (like the silver alloy whatevers that came with mine). I won't need my wheels if I get steelies ... let's make magic happen! 2orange, do you have a picture you can post?

And Bill, you of ALL PEOPLE should know that the scones are totally first-come first-served! Hahahaha ... (you started it ...) :D

Rains heavy or snows? Why would you bring up SNOW? Haha ... rain sure, but it's not going to snow!

outofd
06-28-2007, 08:51 PM
it's going to be a magic event! I have no preference for black or alloy wheels and I am fairly sure that there is no difference between 03 and 05 wheels, but will do some research. See you soon, Bill

You will be surprised at the room. 2orange4u, I have been trying to check out the prices on the alloy wheels in the classified elements forum. I was going to use the wheels for my winter tires and so was originally thinking of black steel wheels. I think that your alloys will be too pretty and expensive for me to use just for winter. Let me know what you want for them and I will check the cookie jar and let you know. Thanks, best wishes and looking foward to see all old and new element owners. Bill P>S> week of july 8th, I will spend a week camping at the Indian Nation Casino in Yakama, to test out warm weather camping, slots, and picture taking. What a great bar b que !! Mom & Pop Smurf sure know how to host a great picnic. Thank you so much. Great seeing all the e lined up. Wanted to take a picture of junebugs scones as this is the first time that they have been on public display.... Tasted one, and I must say GREAT!!!! Thanks Trina. Thanks 2orange4u for the wheels deal. Had to read your post twice, thought you were calling your wonderful husband a drip. Love the new puppy, rusty and the hot dogs; people and dogs make a great day. Dave, you have enough beautiful land to host the national event next year and it would be a little cooler. All the food was great, gained 20 lbs. Again thanks to all, best wishes and see you at the next meet! Bill & Barbara, Teddy and Tazee.

It's really too bad that no one had a Camera. It sounds like a great time was had by all. :)

It was really a wonderful day .. who cares about a little rain. Harley ... that dang dog ... was still on the hunt when I got home and chased something down into the blackberrys. Didn't come home til almost 11pm. Both dogs pretty much slept all day Sunday, as I cleared a path in blackberrys to go after him next time he gets out.
