i brought my e to the dealer b/c of the rattle on the back that everyone knows about....they solved it with a ton of grease

anyway...i got the car home and noticed some white chaulky stuff on the real tailgate....i thought it would wipe right off...anyway...its been a week and i cant get it off...i tried wd40....armorall.

anyone know what this stuff might be?

my service manager is on wacation, otherwise id just bring it back

Sounds like dried wax.

Really, try peanut butter, it removes wax on the composite panels.

do the panels have a coating on them...or are they just a solid piece of plastic?

ie : could the dealer have gotten some sort of solvent on it that took a coating off?

It could be chalk grease for the hinges.

In the meantime... enjoy life beyond the walls.
