: Which Car for Wedding?

My wife and I are having our first disagreement about our daughter's upcoming wedding on June 2.

I want to drive the E; she wants to take her PT Cruiser.

I would appreciate all comments that I can use to sway her to take the E.

the E is more classy then the pt

Because my husband said so and that the E is nicer than the PT.

Okay, what he really said is, "A PT Cruiser is nothing to be proud of. She must really hate the Element. He needs to find a new wife."

Sorry, he's outta control.

Let her drive her car and you drive the "real" one. That is what we call a win-win!

But do you really think she will get a worthwhile valid or honest opinion from the pt-folks? :-II

The PT is a car. Not doing what your wife wants... You should have learned this lesson by now! :-o

I can't see her getting this many votes for her PT even on her PT forum. :D

If you want it even more convincing... let me know. :-P

Some details here:

How long will the drive take? If you're bringing ANY luggage, gear, flowers, or gifts, then of course the E wins.

Will it be just the two of you? If not, then the additional passenger leg room will be another win for the E.

Who'll be driving the most? You? then yeah, the E again.

Edit: will taking the PT garner major brownie points with the wife? Then garage the E and it's PT all the way.

I love the E and I love the little quirkiness at weddings. However, I have learned you never EVER EVER cross the mother of the bride. My vote is for the PT. You could override by asking your daughter what she wants.

"Take the E" and you win.
"Take the PT" then forget it.
"Are you really bothering me with this question" and take the PT.

OMG... the E already has over 10,000 votes? Someone has way too much time on their hands...

yeah...that doesn't seem right. The poll was just started yesterday and it is up that high. Something strange is afoot...

We went with the E as our Limo. The only problem was I had to let someone else drive it that day. (Still - you might want to go with what the wife wants!)

It's all about room that day.

Your going to be hauling all sorts of crap before and after the event. You'll have clothes, shoes, GIFTS!!!!, and every other piece of crap associated with a wedding. If would be in your best interest to come at it from that perspective.

The wife is ALWAYS right! Sorry I can't side on the E when I am a woman who keeps her man in line by teaching the platform that I am always right!

BTW, he knows I posted this and agrees, see?????

TimD, she looked very nice in the E lots of room for all that material.

Remilk...saw your E this past weekend. It's a classy ride. Can't think of any PT Cruiser that can beat it.

However, Dom has a point...just how active is your sex life? (No need to respond to that question).

Repeat the following as many times as necessary;

We are taking the Element. I have spoken, and that's the end of it. Now get your bitch ass back in the kitchen and make me some pie!

PM me if you want me to cover the hospital bill.

Kung,

If I said something like that, then the next/final expense would be for a pine box!

Just kidding, I am married to an real angel and I NEVER talk like that to my wife.

Deborah and I went to a wedding last weekend. The bride and groom had a Hyundai Sonata. Who do think they asked to carry their presents after the reception?

I am a professional wedding photographer, I bought (last week) my Element because I thought that it would be the best possible wedding vehicle. Its my "wedding wagon". That being said here are somethings to consider.

Is your E going to be used by the bride and groom as a getaway car? If so leave it at home. Because people will trash it, covering it will all sorts of crap, and then pelting it with bird seed.

At the wedding I shoot last weekend they groom's truck got covered with silly string and then it got baked on in the sun. It was really bad you could see it messing up the finish on his truck.

This is a follow-up to my post.

I did talk my wife into taking the E to the wedding. She was in a long gown and I was in a tux.

I convinced by saying that her PT Cruiser could not hold all the presents recieved at the reception and our clothing and overnight bag.

It turns out I was right. I put the rear seats up against the sides and barely had room for our overnight bag, the wedding presents, two tuxes (mine and the groom), and the wedding gown. My wife had to hold her gown on her lap for the 3.5 mile drive home.

The wedding cermonyand reception were wonderful. The bride and groom are honeymooning in Aruba!

I wish I was in Aruba!
