Hello all,
For the past 2 days my XM radio has been losing reception intermittently while I知 driving. I drive the same way to work each day and have never lost reception. Now, as I知 driving it cuts in and out constantly. This seems to only happen when I知 moving. Could the receiver be going kaput? Do you think the XM receiver is a warranty item? I have 33k on the Element. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks

no it's a problem with XM - it's NOT your receiver. Same thing going on here.

Just read that they are experiencing a problem with one of their four satellites.
Apparently they were loading some software to a component in the satellite and something happened causing the outage.
I just checked my e-mail and noticed XM had sent out a notice about reception problems. They say it should be resolved today.

Xm radio says that it is now OK
From their web site
XM Radio Resumes Normal Levels of Service
XM Satellite Radio has resumed normal levels of service for customers who experienced outages or significantly degraded service starting yesterday.
The problem occurred during the loading of software to a critical component of the satellite broadcast system, which resulted in a temporary loss of signal from one of the companys satellites.
After you turn on your XM radio, please allow five to ten minutes to reacquire the XM signal.
XM apologizes for any inconvenience this has caused.

I called yesterday around noon to ask if they were having problems. The dumb bunny on the phone said that it was my radio. I told that it could not be. I have another radio doing the same thing and she stated that both of my radios were bad. Poor customer service.

That IS poor. Customer service, what a crock! I have seen customer service decline so much in the past 10 years. It enrages me. I suppose this is something best left to another thread.
