Hi,

Are they still making Mother's Back-to-Black? I can't find it.

Anybody in Maryland (Anne Arundel, Prince George's or Montgomery County) able to find the stuff? If yes, Where!?!

I have spent the last three weeks visiting numerous auto stores (3 different ones, I only recall Advanced Auto) and 3 different Target stores. I have asked the clerks--most have not heard of Back-to-Black but push Black Magic, which I see everywhere.

I have seen Mother's Back-to-Black on the Internet but shipping costs as much as the product. If I knew the stuff was good (i.e., it worked) I guess I could order 3 bottles to make it worth the shipping costs. Thanks in advance. -g

Pep Boys...I don't recall if that was one of the stores I checked out. I'll try it though.

My husband just said "I never thought I'd see the day that you were checking out auto parts stores."

Yeah, me neither. Most were pretty dirty (floors) and the doors were black with dirt, or grease or something. :-o

I got it at a carquest auto parts last month, so I guess it's still available. Even if you have to mail order it, it's good enough that I'd think it's worth the shipping: I got sunscreen on my plastic after a recent bike ride, & nothing worked to get rid of the haze until I tried the Back To Black.

The parts department at College Park Honda, on Route 1, has it for $5.95 per bottle.

Ere,
Thanks so much. I was just there for an oil change May 7 and I didn't see the stuff

Well, I have to go back this week. The Maintenance Req'd light came on for no reason. It's the wrong time for a service reminder (25,500+ miles) and I have done all necessary maintenance. I think the manual said I could turn it off myself, although, I do need new windshield wipers. I guess I gotta go. -g

1) they probably forgot to reset the light at the oil change
2) why do you need to go to the dealer for windshield wipers?

Okay, I know you're making fun of me. No I can't change the windshield wipers or the oil or anything else for that matter

But I noticed you're in Winchester, VA. I could swing by there on my way the the Charlottesville meet (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?p=418591#post418591) and you can put the new wipers on for me :D

And then, we could caravan the rest of the way to the meet :)

Oh that's right, you're a trader. Oh, I mean you traded in your E:razz:

I have tried Mothers Back to Black and here in South Dakota it is in every auto part store and Wal-Mart, But I find it does not last as long as a product made by Wizards called Black Renew. It seems to last longer and it goes on thicker than Back to Black. www.wizardsproducts.com And on the bottle it even says All Color Exterior Trim. Just something I use, Be safe, Dave

ElimintDave,
I did finally find a bottle of MBTB (I think Ere told me about it). Found it at College Park Honda. Funny thing is there was just one bottle. I tried it. It was easy enough to use, but I was surprised at how runny it was. I probably wasted/spilled 3-4 tablespoons of it. And the bottle isn't that big.

I'll have to look for the product that you suggest. Thanks. -g

HI G,

What have you used to apply the Mothers? I find if you use a paste wax applicaters ( you can get these in a 2 pack at most Wal-Marts ) I find these alot better to use than a rag or a sponge, Hope that helps a bit, Dave

I used a terry cloth. It was a cheapy though, not very plush.

I don't know what a paste wax applicator looks like, but I'm game. I'll look for it.
