I am trying to buy a set of components for my Dad's 2004 Element for Father's day. He has the stock 7 speaker system. I will not be replacing the HU or adding a speaker amp so I need the set to run off of stock power. I was thinking of getting some Infinitys because of their high sensitivity but I was wondering if the stock amp is 2 ohm stable?
Can anyone suggest any other good choices while keeping stock power?
Thanks.

I would not think teh stock Amp is 2 ohm stable. What kind of infinities are you going to be installing. Are they true components with the small woofer and seperate tweeter, is they are, I would suggest getting an aftermarket amp to run them. It will work better and sound better.

I'd say get 2 nice sets of coaxials. Something like these: http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=45_245_315&products_id=634&osCsid=d62f651f5f657536732214cfc3e462e6
They are $34.50 a piece, so you'd need 4.

Well I definitely want components because I want to upgrade the tweeters to improve the highs. Btw those speakers you posted aren't that great at all. My main concern here is to find a component set that works well off of low power.

Can anyone else confirm that the stock amp is not 2 ohm stable? Any good suggestions for component sets?

Yeah those aren't component speakers. You may be better off getting a good set of components for the front than four lesser speakers. BUT although I have never heard those speakers HI-VI (swanspeaker) does make some very good inexpensive drivers. They have huge selection.

I am not saying you should buy these I think you are on the right track with the infinity's.
Component speakers with a nominal impendance of 2ohms are pretty rare. What models are you looking at?
