Hi-I am new to this site today, I am wondering if anyone has mounted P245-50-R20 tires on a 45 mm offset rim on their element? I don't want to get into any mods if possible. The tires are Bridgestone Turanaza EL42 and the rims are 20 x 7.5 with a 45 mm offset. Any experience with treadwear and handling for this this particular model of tire (in any size)? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I had 245/40/20 on my E...at stock height there was tons of room.

Only problem you might run into is hitting the strut when you turn the wheel all the way to the right or left, but I really doubt it.

I had the big 235/75/16's on my 03 and they didn't rub either so as long as you stay at stock height I would think you'd be ok.

now...I can't say exactly what the offset of my wheels are..but I run a 245/45 tire and it rubs in a couple places. nothing significant, damaging or dangerous...just something worth noting. Now, if I sized down to a 245/40 (next set o' tires), I'm sure I'll clear the current rub spots.

but...to satisfy your curiosity concerning rubbing, just go check out the front fender-wells and take a look around. you'll notice that they're not obstruction free to the rear and that the tire, even at stock size, is pretty close to the strut (run your hand over the tire near the strut for affirmation). and if you want even more info than that...get a buddy to turn the wheel while you watch the clearances, and note all the places that the stock tire gets "closest".
