Baxter evidently unhooked the rear seat belt yesterday.

We were riding down the interstate yesterday when a tractor trailer in front of us blew a tire. It sounded a lot like a dang shotgun going off, and then small (and large) pieces of what use to be a tire started raining down all over and around us. None of the larger pieces hit us or any other vehicles, so no harm other than just scaring the bejesus out of everybody.

Anyway, within a second of the tire exploding, Baxter, was in my lap!. Before the tire blew, he was securely fastened in his harness in the back seat. After the tire blew, he was still in his harness, but the seat belt was unfastened.

I know the belt was hooked, is it possiable that the dang dog unhoodked it?

Ha, ha, ha...Baxter looks like he's navigating: "Okay, now take a right at the next street"

Who needs GPS, you have Baxter!

During a road trip a few months ago, 1 of my dogs slipped out of his harness. At the next stop I put him back in and away we went. Well, a few minutes down the road and he taught his brother and sister, because all 3 had gotten out of their harnesses. Maybe yours is like mine - houndini!

My golden slipped out of his harness once.....thank fully it was only at the drive in an Tim Hortons and not on the highway....hard to drive with a 100lb dog on your lap.

Actually Baxter was still in his harness. The seat belt was unlatched. I too have had the boys wiggle out of their harness a time or two, but that wasn't the case here - which makes this so unusual.

Maybe I just didn't get the seat belt latched good? Maybe Baxter actually did unlatched it? The world may never know.

But I do know this, it ain't real easy driving with a 65 pound dog in you lap either. :)
