As an owner of a MINI Cooper S, and member of a MINI Owners forum such as this for Element owners, I have been introduced to a few products that some of you may be interested in.
One is a product called HYDRO sold by Detailers Paradise. I've included the link below for those who are interested.

Some MINI owners are anal about keeping their car clean and shiney. The most used product by far is called HYDRO. Hydro is a wax that is lightly sprayed onto your cars wet surface after washing, and then buffed onto the surface as you dry your car. It can also be applied to a dry freshly washed car by spraying a small amount onto a damp towel and wiping it onto the car's surface. Then lightly buff with a dry towel. It can be used on the entire car; painted surfaces, black plastic, windows, and tires. It leaves no residue and will remove most dried water spots with little effort.
I can see where this may be a good product to use on the Elements with black body panels.
No, I don't own the company that makes it or sells it, I just believe it to be a great product.
Here is a link to the MINI Cooper owners forum with more discussion on HYDRO.
