: Painted pillars
HOTBOX1208 07-19-2007, 02:30 AM I had the part in between the windows painted to make it look like a continuous window. Not extremely happy with the work, but it creates the illusion I wanted. Here are the first pics I snapped. I have since tinted the windows darker(limo) and will be reapplying new window visors as soon as UPS delivers them:)
FateSaint 07-19-2007, 02:56 AM thats interesting, not bad
beaker656 07-19-2007, 05:35 AM You may not be happy with the results close up, but the effect looks great from where I am sitting.
I like it;-)
jurneez 07-19-2007, 05:37 AM jeeeze I don't think I've seen anyone do this. It's unique.
I have to form an opinion if I'd do it but it looks good.

lizzurd 07-19-2007, 07:14 AM I have been wanting to do that to mine since the day i picked it up but i wasn't sure about how it would look.....looks really good.
mid"E" 07-19-2007, 08:31 AM I think this would be a splendid addition to the 09' re-design.;-)
I like it.
wscruiser 07-19-2007, 10:00 AM Hey, thanks for posting the pictures. I had been thinking about the same mod, but couldn't decide if I wanted to go through with it. Last week I broke out the black electrical tape and taped it off just to see if I liked it, but still couldn't decide.
I think it looks good. I think I'll get some matte black vinyl and give it a try. That way if I change my mind, it will be an easy fix.

i believe limo tint is 5%...however i do not think that my tint is that dark. i know the rear windows are a tad darker than the front two. i couldn't tell you exactly which percentage is on the windows, but i will try to post better pics once the window visors are reapplied. you cannot see into the rear and have to be close up to look into the front window on a bright day.
HAHNEE07 07-20-2007, 11:03 PM very nice job:)

it is difficult to see if there are no street lights. i have a rear view camera which makes it easier:)
chozn4service 09-09-2009, 06:58 PM I was going to paint my pillars as some have done but I didn't. I went through some changes with a few local people on having this done since the month of May but I went to Maaco about three weeks ago and they referred me to a Stan Signs about a 1/2 mile south of their location and they hooked me up with a 9yr 3M vinyl that can be easily removed if needed. They did the install today and it took about 4hrs to complete.
I really don't care for it now that I've had it done though I did like it on everyone elses who had it done.
My experience with it thus far as been from the shop to home and parking it in the garage. I'm still thinking of selling my element and it seems like there is nothing that I can do to shake the feeling of parting with it. Don't know what it is, just kind of in the pits right now.
Anyway, excuse the pic as its a cellphone shot, in the garage and in a hurry to get to work. May shoot some others later, maybe not. Just thought I'd share.
Peace!
_jea_ 09-09-2009, 07:07 PM Joe, thanks for sharing the picture of Precious. She looks cool and I love what you did to the pillars.
Hope all is well with you and you will again go back and decide to keep her!
Peace! :)
