: Welcome Georgia Element Owners
ibenez 08-20-2003, 08:47 AM Hi,
You live in Georgia and own an E? This is the place to link up with other Georgia E owners.
Post a "hello" stating where you live in GA.
I've seen 4-5 in Kennesaw alone, and I see E's all over the place on 75/85/285; so I know you are out there.

Kayakin' Dan 08-21-2003, 12:20 AM And I know I'm the only one! I'm back and forth between Alpharetta and the river/lake/large puddle on any given day. "Paddle Or Die" sticker on the rear window of a SSM DX.
Anonymous 09-03-2003, 08:19 AM So where do you kayak Dan? The 'hooch, lanier, allatoona?
Redpunk 09-03-2003, 08:20 AM Oops, that last post was by me. I didn't get the usual login prompt
Kayakin' Dan 09-03-2003, 11:50 PM The Etowah and Allatoona mostly, but I'll go anywhere!
Lightstorm21 09-11-2003, 12:47 PM I'm in Mableton, which is kinda the void between Smyrna and Austell. Mines pretty much a commuter vehicle right now, though I do pile my bikes in it every other day to go ride the trails.
Redpunk 09-15-2003, 09:27 AM Welcome Lightstorm... you are in good company. We are seeing a lot of E's in Cobb. We live in Kennesaw and we have seen at least one in each color so far. So do you bike the Silver Comet or are you more of a mountain biker?
Lightstorm21 09-23-2003, 02:54 PM I ride the comet mostly, but on a hybrid. I may get a dedicated road bike if the price is ever right.
Anonymous 09-24-2003, 08:05 AM There is someone with a Shoreline Mist that works at Costco World Market in Kennesaw near the mall. Is that you? I know it's not likely but figured I would ask.
Redpunk 09-24-2003, 08:07 AM I'm beginning to feel like the village idiot in this thread... That was me asking in the last post, oops.
petebo 10-11-2003, 06:52 AM I'm down here in Newnan and have seen at least three other E's roaming the streets. Mine is a premo bike and backpack hauler.
teklon 11-13-2003, 09:22 PM I got my Element in May,shoreline mist ex automatic.I really like it and have received many good comments from total strangers who stop me wanting to know what kind of car it is.
Redpunk 11-14-2003, 10:40 AM Welcome to the club Tek!
I'm sure we all get the same reaction, what is that box thing? Huh, it's a HONDA???
jtgeorgia 11-14-2003, 09:54 PM :D
Love the E. Don't fit the "profile" of their target market. My kids have renamed my "E" the "Elderment"
Live east of ATL near Covington.
Anonymous 11-15-2003, 07:53 PM Im in Sandy Springs in ATL. You would know if you have seen mine. You would have more than likely looked twice and wondered WHY?? Its dropped 6", on 19" Axxis Se7ens, and has "X-Rated Short Bus" on the rear side windows.
Turtle 11-15-2003, 07:55 PM Ok, now I feel like a village idiot. The above post was mine. Oh yeah, its SOP
Redpunk 11-16-2003, 02:42 PM LOL. I empathize ;-)
I think I'm the only E driving 78 @ 7:00 am mon-fri. Just arrived back from MN, 5" of snow. All should know the E is quite the performer, handled most exellent on ice/snow. Heading to CO on the 23rd, I'm sure the E will rock the party that rocks the party.
Kayakin' Dan, what are you paddleing? I do a little boating myself. I have a wavesport tranformer and wenona canoe. Paddle a bunch of local rivers, wife likes to tandem on the cartacay.
Kayakin' Dan 12-03-2003, 10:43 PM Paddle the Etowah and Allatoona most days. I like the Cartecay too, but it's tough to run shuttle alone! I have a Sea kayak, play boat and a rec boat. I'll be building a new canoe in the next couple of weeks. You paddle in the winter?
Love winter boating. I use the cartecay shuttle (river right), I think it runs all year round. I mostly boat with a buddy of mine, I'll email you the next time we hit the cartecay?
Strip canoe, is it from a kit, where from? A buddy of mine is building a strip kayak, had it in my garage for a month, it's so very nice. I can't fund that project for some time, but I think I'll build one in the future.
tbcar 12-16-2003, 10:01 AM I live in Hiram/Powder Springs.
I have the ebp colored e. Its dropped 2" on stock atm (resently sold the 20" wire spinners i had on it.) Should be gettin some axis 19's either 40 or 45 series to improve ride quality. 35 series tires are toooooooo rough.
anyway what sup GaE'rs ;)

hehe hi Tek
Redpunk 12-17-2003, 11:31 AM Who was that masked poster?
Really though... there must be some bug in our thread because this happens way too often in here :?:
thesussman 03-30-2004, 09:46 AM I joined the ranks of Georgia E owners on Sunday. I purchased a FBP 2WD EX and love it. I live in Canton and work in Alpharetta. Until 3 weeks ago, I thought the E was one of the ugliest cars out there, but then I saw it at the Auto Show, started reading about it on the boards, and my mind was changed. My 14 year old son wasn't too excited about it at first, but after he rode in it, he loved the room in the back.
I'm looking forward to talking with other E owners in Georgia.
Anonymous 04-29-2004, 10:02 PM Loven every miute :P
MtnBiker 02-27-2005, 01:17 PM I live in Alpharetta. My wife and I do a lot of mountain biking (http://www.sorba.org/) around the state and I hope to buy an Element within next month.
The ability to store two mountain bikes inside (with wheels still on) really caught my attention!
I lived in Alpharetta for a year or so...Now I live in Dunwoody right by the North Springs Marta Station. Glad to hear that you are interested in the E...It's worth getting =]
Welcome to the boards!
gfxguy 03-01-2005, 01:51 PM 04 SSM in Lilburn here... the little lost land between Stone Mountain, Norcross, and Lawrenceville. I've seen a lot of Elements around, have decided to wave if the other drivers look - but so far I haven't seen one even seem to care there was another E on the road next to them.
Is it just me, or does it seem like drivers in the area have exponentially gotten worse in the past few weeks? I mean, they get worse all the time, but I mean REALLY much worse in the past month or so.
ImpulseE 03-09-2005, 06:19 AM Currently in middle, Ga at RAFB. Hopefully for not much longer. No offense to you GA folks but I cant wait to get back to FL.
gfxguy 03-09-2005, 10:48 AM No offense taken, ImpulseE, if I could find a job even remotely as good as the one I have almost anywhere else, I'd be gone before you could swat one of those GA mosquitos that laughs at "deep woods off".
I'm the same way, really. I like having a lot to do in Atlanta, but I just dont mesh well with the people here. I have met some great people here, but overall its just very materialistic and clique-ish. It's like everyone got together in 1995 and decided who could hang out with who. Very strange. The weather is fantastic and the people I get a long with are great - they are just far and few between. If it wasn't for my job, I'd most likely be out of here.
No offense to the other GA people on this board though. I love a lot about this place, but I live in the big city aspect of it, so I obviosuly have to deal with quite a few a$$holes on a daily basis. Northern Georgia is incredible, but there are just no tech jobs there.
ImpulseE 03-09-2005, 12:00 PM Sier, check USAjobs.com for govt jobs with the civil service. They are hiring engineers right now; especially Computer/Electrical/Mechanical. I know for a fact they are still hiring Engineers at Robins AFB in middle GA. Thats why I am up here right now. Im a civil service Electronics Engineer (read: software engineer). The pay is very competitive right now. Engineer positions are generally GS-12 and they pay around $60k per year +10% retention bonus after 1 year. Once you add on benefits & perks, not to mention the government work environment you really cant lose. They are getting ready to approve 3 hours of paid workout time for civilians per week aswell.
The only bad thing about the government is there are alot of lazy people. You can literally do nothing all day if you wish and not get fired. One of the things I really like about the job though, is that software I write is directly used by the men and women in blue every day in the war on terror, so its a cool feeling knowing Im doing my part even if its a small contribution.
Im looking for a transfer to an FL base at the moment, but I dont mind the GA area. State income tax is rediculous though. =)
gfxguy 03-09-2005, 12:33 PM I'm a programmer and that salary would be a HUGE cut for me. In the Atlanta area a seasoned programmer can get lot more than that. Moreover, I'm really overpaid at the moment, so I can't give that up.
ImpulseE 03-09-2005, 02:03 PM Im just out of college so its good for me =). The guys who have been here awhile and are GS-13 make alot! more than me.
dougiedude 05-30-2005, 12:09 AM Hello, Love this site for some useful information on one Awesome vehicle I purchased at Ed Voyles Honda last Thursday! Love my Element so far; I'm so relieved to have rid myself of the M-B ML 320 it replaces; I chose a 5-speed manual, my daughter selected the color(SOP), and the Element selects the road! I haven't seen any other E's while in my own 'Element', but I hope I get the chance to wave real soon!
elementoffroader 07-29-2005, 07:39 PM I live in Chickamauga, Georgia and have an 04 Element. I'm just waiting for someone to come out with lift kits for these things!
AndyCElement 08-01-2005, 08:18 PM I've got an '03 Element EX. I live in Lawrenceville and work in Dekalb/Decatur.
If you see a Black Element with a Batman plate on the front and a yellow XM sticker on the rear, wave, it's me...
I've been driving a '96 neon and wife has been enjoying the Element. After almost 9 years of hardly any problems, the neon finally died and we replaced it with a nighthawk black '05 Accord Coupe EXL 6cyl. Finally, I get to drive the Element fulltime (the neon was a stick and my wife can't/woudn't drive it).

nbpguy 09-04-2005, 08:56 PM Hello to all. I just recentlly became an element owner. i came from the tuner scene, so bear with me if i go the painted panels, wheels, and lowering route. I got an '05 ex awd NBP from hennessey. No mods as of yet but there are a few DIY's in the works, Just wanted to introduce my self see ya around
Turtle 09-06-2005, 05:04 PM I now see soo many Elements around ATL. Mainly around my work in Buckhead, where Id figure Id see the least. TIve had a couple people wave, but most people act as if their Element is the only one on the road and dont even look over at me. I look at every Element that I see. Oh well, if you see a SOP Element excessively lowered, thats me. Yes I have air ride suspension and it goes a lot lower when parked, or if Im bored going down the road.
clambake4 09-06-2005, 06:34 PM I saw 6 Elements today while driving a 40 mile errand run. All were in Ansley Park, Piedmont Monroe, Morningside, and Poncey-Highlands. 4 were grey. I don't know my colors yet. Could have been the same one.
Didn't see any in Decatur or Brookhaven.
I guess intown is Element Heaven.
I waved at every one. Nobody waved back.

poseswithtoaster 09-07-2005, 10:00 PM lightstorm, i must have seen you a thousand times. i bike the comit from powder springs to my work in smyrna at least two times a week. my e can be seen about 60 or 70 hours a week in front of the publix on east west conn. where the comit sort of starts.
boxcarbob 12-27-2005, 08:52 PM I live in Dacula but travel to duluth everyday where I work and see about 5 E's each way mine has the Hebron Christian Academy license plate on the front but as of yet have had no one wave at me.
Mistercates 12-31-2005, 08:58 AM I live in Flintstone, GA which is the northwestern corner of Ga. Thats mine in the avatar. Just got it in November. Hoping to add some upgrades soon.
fendray26 02-13-2006, 08:51 PM wow, georgia needs to wake up.
TRPEOwner 06-17-2006, 11:20 PM I live in Sylvester. It's halfway between Albany and Tifton.
HeCam17 06-20-2006, 09:28 AM Welcome, I'm in Kennesaw also near a Publix on Old 41.
Lots of E's on the road.
I live in Cherokee County - which is North of Cobb County in case you didnt know....I have had it for a week or so now and absolutely love it - I think it is a great vehicle - I look forward to several more years driving it around  :D :)
jtgeorgia 06-30-2006, 07:54 PM Hello Georgians,
We live in Newborn, about 50 miles from Atlanta. Our town of 400 has only one Element, but it did get featured late last year nationwide on a story the AP did on "older" (ie me) Element owners.
I see more "E"'s around Atlanta every day.
Keep "honkin".
afisher 07-11-2006, 12:35 PM Hello from Doraville, just got my E a few weeks ago. I got tired of paying for gas in my GMC 2500HD. Anyone have a Borla exhaust? Comments?
andypavo 08-29-2006, 06:29 PM I'm in Thomasville. There's only a few down here. The local dealership has about a dozen but I think they want too much. They put a lot of dealer options on them and run the EX's up to about 24k. I drove all the way to Conyers to get mine.
wtloftin 09-01-2006, 11:44 PM Here in Atlanta... Have a NBP... I see several around my neighborhood all the time: East Atlanta. The one I see most is a NBP parked in front of flatiron with a moog sticker on the back glass... I was thinking about putting my moog sticker on my E to be funny and maybe confuse someone... heh.
sier-- Atlanta's not that bad... you must be going to all the wrong places... there are a lot of really cool people in the East Atlanta/ Grant Park/ Cabbagetown/ L5P area... maybe that's more your crowd. I know it is mine. I've been here for a little over 6 years, though I'm originally from GA, I moved here from living in NYC for 2 years... I feel right at home in East Atlanta...
But then I think life it all about what you make of it... you can go and live anywhere and you'll find something you don't like about it.... it's finding the things that you DO like that makes it most interesting and enjoyable...
cheers!
orange_spokes 10-04-2006, 11:14 AM im currently up in murfreesboro, tn...but im moving back to the home land of Georgia in febuary....I'm in ga all the time in the gainsville-flowery branch area on the weekends though....give me honk if you see me....im not hard to miss...the rack kind of gives it away
anrebel1 10-18-2006, 07:15 AM I live in Marietta/East Cobb. I dont currently have an element, but I'm hoping to change that very very soon. In fact, if anyone knows of someone who would like to sell theirs, I'm interested =o) I'd prefer a manual but I'll settle for an automatic. Just wanted to say hello to everyone...so...Hello!
jesusbracho 10-30-2006, 07:23 AM Just bouth mine a month ago.. I live in Vinnings...I ride Bicycles and bikes...If anybody out there who want to joing me for a bike ride this weekend to the mountains and have a picnick? will be nice..
jimdi62 11-05-2006, 11:44 PM Hi, just saying hello, just bought an 2007 SC Alabaster Silver Metalic. I live in Buford, GA not to far from the Mall of Georgia.
gfxguy 11-06-2006, 07:01 AM I live in Marietta/East Cobb. I dont currently have an element, but I'm hoping to change that very very soon. In fact, if anyone knows of someone who would like to sell theirs, I'm interested =o) I'd prefer a manual but I'll settle for an automatic. Just wanted to say hello to everyone...so...Hello!
Welcome all you guys (and gals) since I last checked this GA thread...
Anrebel1, don't settle! I settled for an auto and I've regretted it ever since. It was end of year, good financing rates, but no manuals to be found in three states... but I should have waited for the new model year - they kept the low finance rate around for the new year, but who knew they'd do that?
Still, don't do it! How long will you keep your car and the entire time not liking something about?
jimdi62, I was just up that way (not quite) yesterday... we adopted a puppy from a breeder up there... three exits (I think) past Mall of Georgia (one past Chateu Elan), and my wife and I kept talking about how beautiful it is up there. We really need to get out more. The trees are at a "just perfect" state of colors.
jpeaslee 11-07-2006, 10:29 PM I'm from Valdosta. Used to live in tifton (also alabama, kentucky, tennessee, and Iowa) I'm now in Savannah at AASU. Funny thing is i'm really probably closer to a lot of South Carolina people than I am to half of you georgia people. Any talk of having some sort of meet?
gfxguy 11-09-2006, 09:48 AM Any talk of having some sort of meet?
Well, think of it this way; how many members of EOC are there, and how many showed up for the national meet? There's about 15k members now, if I'm not mistaken. If 50 showed up for the national meet, that's like less than 1/2 of 1 percent. If you apply that to a Georgia meet, how many people do you think that is?
So are you willing to drive all the way from Savanah to say... oh, Stone Mountain Park for a meet of maybe 3 or 4 people? And then what? I've got no cool mods to show off, and I'd have to bring my kids who'd be nagging me to take them to the great barn (a kids attraction) the whole time.
So I don't want to discourage - there's a lot of single, younger people here who might want to have a meet, and it's been discussed before, but I don't think Georgians have pulled off a successful meet yet.
On the other hand, a weekend in Savanah doesn't sound objectionable, either. Most people just need an excuse. Many family things to do there? It seems it's mostly for couples?
markx 11-28-2006, 10:31 AM Long time lurker (even before buying in Jan. '06, but lot's of researching).
I'm in Stone Mountain, working downtown.
Pretty sure I saw an EOC sticker on another E on my way to work a few weeks ago cruising down Dekalb Ave. between Decatur and L5P.

Yeah, the Georgia E owner here. Never mind, you prbabbly never heard of it. Town called Dillard. Few steps below NC.
climber00 12-02-2006, 10:40 PM Whats Up everyone!
I live in Kennesaw,recently purchased a 2006 TRP 2WD EX-P.I love it!
Just after I bought it I broke it in on a climbing trip to Arkansas! It performed incredibly well! I've been bitten by the modification bug and started adding some things with lots more to come!
Any tips on larger tires/rims,fog-lights,aftermarket steprails, bed platforms....would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Climber00
ballstop69 12-03-2006, 10:30 AM Hey Everybody! I just purchased my Black SC 2 weeks ago from Gwinnett Place Honda. I live in Douglasville and work in Norcross (my commute sux). Previous to my E I had a 2000 Merc Cougar (I tricked the heck out of this thing, about $12K worth). I really love customizing cars and hangin out with people that like to also, so if you're in the D'ville area (or Atlanta really) PM me :D
-Amber
HeCam17 12-05-2006, 07:03 PM Welcome to EOC, you will enjoy your E as much as well all do. Get an EOC sticker so we know it's you and wave back when you drive the Old 41.
wncmountains 01-07-2007, 06:27 PM Hi fellow GA E-owners...
Just bought a used EX-P AWD red tango pearl last week and wanted to introduce myself. Will definitely wave. Love this site!
Live in Social Circle and commute into Chamblee area I-20 and 285 but ride in a van pool most days of week.
To an earlier poster (sorry, can't see your name) from Dillard - yes, I know where that is! Originally from Franklin NC myself. Glad to see that area represented:)
viking vol 01-07-2007, 08:45 PM I've posted several times on this board, but just realized I had never posted in the Georgia Owners. I've got an '03 SSM EX that I bought this month three years ago brand new from Milton Martin Honda in Gainesville. I'm now up to 48K, and the E runs like a top! Hi to all and be sure and wave. I've waved at a few E owners and they look at me really funny. I'm often in the Mall of Georgia area or up and down I-985.
Just picked up my SC RBM last week. I live in south Alpharetta (might as well be Roswell).
CountryGirl 02-16-2007, 09:42 PM I just this evening joined this Forum and would like to say "Hey." I just bought a new Element and drove it for the first time to work today (just bought it 2/15). I bought it from Milton Martin Honda in Gainesville and they were just wonderful. I just love my new Element! Love the XM radio (I had to listen to all of the stations). Tomorrow I plan on spending the day going through the owner's manual and getting up close and personal with my Element. I like to go biking and it will be so nice to just toss my bike in the back instead of fooling with those stupid bike racks--I had a Toyota Corolla before and had a Thule bike rack on the back--never really felt secure with it. Anyone got any tips for toting a bike in the back? I also enjoy attending Civil War re-enactments and would like to start re-enacting when I retire. I figure the Element will be a good way to haul my stuff around in--you know, hoop skirts and the like :). Is anyone here into re-enacting?
Have a great weekend!!:)
Tunnelmotor99 04-10-2007, 05:45 PM Hey CountryGirl, I bought my E on 2/15 also, but I got mine from Carey Paul. I have carried 2 mountain bikes in the back, you have to remove the front wheels but if you have the quick releases it's not so bad.
jpeaslee 04-10-2007, 11:19 PM I've got a Gary Fisher mountain bike that i fit in my car without taking the front rim off. I think its a 19" or 20" frame too, can't remember which. The best way i've found to do it is slide the passenger seat forward, fold up or take out the right back seat, and then back the bike in through the side. The side has a much bigger opening than the hatch. Your front tire might peek over the console a tiny bit, but it works fine for me.
Rowdy 04-11-2007, 08:11 AM Hi country girl,
I have my rear driver side seat folded up and roll my road bike in from the back with both wheels on. I hook the drops of the handle bars in the bungee cords on the back of the folded up seat. I can also leave the wheels on my mountain bike and just slant it a little close the tailgate.
orange_spokes 04-11-2007, 01:15 PM finally some ga bike riders...where does everybody ride???? if you ever ride chicopee or in the area give me a shout we will go for a ride...also if anybody has a trailer hitch...and would like a cheap rack give me a shout...ive got one that gets the job done and ill sell for under $100 dollars...let me know
Styli 05-01-2007, 10:33 AM Im new to this forum just picked up my E on Sat 4-28-07.
Black LX 4WD
about to get my hitch for the Waverunner and a bike rack for my Mnt. Bike.
:D
Lin-z 05-20-2007, 10:51 PM I am from Nashville, GA, which is close to Valdosta/Tifton.
invaderjason 06-05-2007, 12:22 PM i heard there was a murder on the silver comet trail almost a year ago in powder springs. that is really crazy. i use to race BMX a few years ago and I'd like to get back into it when i come back from this deployment. the new element will definitely be motivation since i won't have to buy an ugly bike rack.
OPEChris 06-14-2007, 12:12 AM Hello, everyone. My E lives in Smyrna near Galleria. I have all kinds of thoughts/ideas/plans for my "Sweet Potato," and would love to get ideas from others.
I've attached a few photos....please say hello!

ninacan 06-30-2007, 02:04 PM Hey all,
Had my new Element for 2 weeks now. After pining and drooling for 3 years, I can't believe I finally got one. I can't wait to go camping! I love throwing my bike in the back and just going for a ride. No more scratching the paint off car with my old bike rack:) Anyway, I'm in Lawrenceville and I mostly ride at Central Park in Cumming, Tribble Mill in Grayson and Big Creek in Roswell. I tried Chicopee (Zig Zag trail) and it kicked my butt. I'll have to practice a little more before I try that again. Oh and I've ridden Conyers a few times too; tough but fun. Anyway, love this site and I look forward to reading about other GA E owners.
Here's a picture of the new baby!
(hope I attached it correctly)
OPEChris 06-30-2007, 04:01 PM Hey Ninacan! Welcome to the world of fanatical Element Owners! :-o Glad to have you with us.

Thanks Nina! I'm having the overhead DVD player, wired to and from the AVIC-D3 installed this week, along with a rear view camera and game ports in the back. WHOO HOO! I love this vehicle!

Congrats! I've had mine for about 3 weeks now; I actually don't mind sitting in Atlanta traffic sitting in the new E...for now.

JBRanger 07-26-2007, 04:38 PM The E handled the road trip. Bought her on Friday (85 miles) and now Thursday I have nearly 3,000 miles on her!!! :) Where'd I go? Minnesota, by way of Chicago, Oshkosh, and others. LONG trip but fun! I've got some awesome pics from the airshow.
Alaskan_Toaster 08-01-2007, 07:30 PM I took delivery of my E two days ago and am still amazed that I finally have one (wanted one since they came out).
I am located close to Augusta and am wondering-
How many E's in the area? and
What's there to do here in the company of other E's?
I have pix posted in the NW Owners area (will be moving north in the fall) in case you would like to see more of my bEauty.
Let me know who's there-

Alaska! There's either a city named Alaska in the SE or you're in the wrong thread  Welcome to the EOC.
Congrats on the new E :D I've had mine for a month now and I'm still loving every minute of it!
Alaskan_Toaster 08-12-2007, 05:59 AM Temporarily in Augusta, as my employer puts me where they want to. :???:
I am retiring from the military this year with plans to return to AK at that time. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy GA with my E while I'm here, though.....

Savannah GA Checking in!!!!!!!!!!
jpeaslee 09-05-2007, 08:56 PM Awesome. I moved here in 05 to go to aasu, but i'll be transferring to vsu in the spring. So far i've only seen one other sav person on here, and they were very brief. I can't seem to go downtown (or just about anywhere else) without seeing at least 1 element, usually quite a few more. Great to see someone else from here on the boards.
I'm getting delivery on my 2003 Ex in exactly a week! I'm located in Alpharetta and hope to see some of you.
