I went ahead and ordered it. $418.10 shipped via ground. For a 17 inch widescreen, this is a great price-- next highest price being offered is $500+ for this monitor.
CNet rated it among the top 3 17" flatscreens, saying that image quality could be a bit better.
I'll let you guys know what I think once I play-test it with counterstrike :)
Thought I'd share, in case this is a possible price glitch in our favor.

IMO vendors have deliberately made the terminology confusing. Do you mean to say you purchased a flat panel monitor? If so is it LCD? Or did you but a conventional monitor with a flat screen CRT?

OK - I didn't click on it earlier because I was at work. I don't click on shopping sites from there. But when I click on it now I don't see the item.

i agree that terminology is misleading, and i may have done the misleading :)
it's a flat panel LCD display, with a widescreen aspect ratio (like the 17" apple powerbook or the studio display). digital/analog ready, rotation, and a good brand name.
i've dealt with my 17" monster CRT for too long :) need the desk space, so i splurged on this. seems like quite a deal, considering the next cheapest price on it is $500+
flat panel (LCD) is very different from flat screen (newer gen CRT's)-- thx for calling that to our attention. that terminology applies to TV's as well.

And isn't a 17" LCD almost the size of a 19" CRT? If I understand correctly the measurements don't correlate exactly.
