: Finally got a Green E
InMyGreenElement 09-07-2007, 10:54 PM I've been admiring these vehicles ever since they came out...always thought that one day I would own one...and I when I finally had to trade in an older van...I started looking for a good used low mileage green EX.
Found a 2003 EX AWD AT at a local Honda dealer ...trade in...only 25K miles and Honda certified!
Already has the side step, roof rack, window guards, front deflector and rear spoiler. I'm going to add a few interior options...but it's already sweet!
Been driving it for one week...and I'm in love!
I'm a 55 year old woman...and it seems that there are a lot of women my age driving these around.
Here's my green E -

Congrats on your great find, and welcome aboard. :D
Right after I bought mine, I took drove it from here to Seneca Falls via Penn Yan, Corning and Watkins Glen. There were many stops along the way... even made it to the State Fair in Syracuse.
It was a lot more fun driving my E up there than it is here... love the hills! Down here you steer. Up there you drive.
Enjoy.
EXwSCnose 09-07-2007, 11:37 PM Cool, very cool!!! Welcome to the loon house!!! You are now officially equiped to participate....
Tim Vance 09-08-2007, 10:50 AM Hello and Welcome!
Our first E was GG, and when we traded it in, they didn't have any, so we 'settled' for the Eternal Blue. So you could say my first love was Galapagos Green!
Keep an eye out for meets in the NorthEast Chapter forum! We might run into you...
mid"E" 09-08-2007, 11:50 AM Fantastic,Welcome to the EOC!
The Galapagos was originally what i had my heart set on when i was searching for my E.It's a great colour and i love the little splash of green in the interior.I ended up finding my SOP and couldn't be happier but i've always been partial to GGM.
Congrats on your new E,it looks great.
Don't forget to get an EOC decal for the back!:)
lizzurd 09-08-2007, 12:10 PM NIce choice of colours......the only thing missing is a cloud rider grille and your's is identical to my old GGM.
Z-ELEMENT 09-08-2007, 12:40 PM this was my first choice, love the galapagos green. welcome to the club.
InMyGreenElement 09-08-2007, 08:03 PM Thanks for the welcomes! I can see that Element owners feel a kinship!
Tonight I was pulling into the parking lot of Olive Garden for supper...and another woman my age (I swear there are more of us than any other demographic up here!) was pulling out in a GG Element and as soon as she saw me - began waving and smiling...which of course I returned!
Mid "E" from Orangeville - I almost ended up with a SOP a few weeks before I bought my Element. It was the first E I looked at...and I loved it immediately...it had a black interior, all the options including side step, fog lights, window guards, ...even had a moon roof snap in screen and the table legs for the cargo cover. Since it was the very first one I had ever seriously looked at, I decided to go see one other one before making up my mind. The next day, I decided the SOP was just too good to pass up...but it was SOLD when I called the dealer...that fast!
I spent another month dreaming about it and regretting my indecision and looking in vain for another like it. Every SOP I saw go by made me sorry I hadn't bought it.
I kept looking and decided that I could live with either SOP or GG...and vowed to buy the first one that came along with low mileage and certified...and the Green it was.
Green was always my first choice...BUT...the SOP is a standout colour too!
(BTW - I'm originally from Manitoulin Island in Northern Ontario...been in Webster, NY for 7 years.)
Hope to see some of you on the road!!

hiker chick 09-13-2007, 08:49 AM Congrats on your GGM!! Never thought I'd have a green car but GGM grabbed me, too.:)
InMyGreenElement 09-14-2007, 09:13 AM WOW...I hope I never have to drive thru that much snow! Reminds me of winters up in Northern Ontario...that's where I could have used the 4WD!
4Wdriver...
to answer your question...I got my E at Dick Ide in Rochester...but I had been looking for months all over the area for the right one. I kept track of inventory at about a dozen Honda Dealers within a 100 miles...even checked your Ithaca dealers! I asked the local ones to keep me in mind if they got a green or orange in. Checked the websites EVERY single day for weeks...and saw mine within hours of it being posted on the dealer site...called immediately and made an appointment to go see it the next day! that was probably the fastest sale they ever made!
Check out autotraders.com with your inputs...and maybe a couple of other sites...you will see everything available and see when new ones are added.
Just to let you know...Ontario Honda was great ...they were really looking for me...and I missed getting the SOP there because I waited a day too long...but they were really good to deal with...and very helpful.
Avoid FOX Honda in Auburn...very bad experience there!! Old school salesmen...smoke and mirrors...turned down a nice green one there because I couldn't take the games!
good luck...be patient...you'll find one...the 03 and 04 Es are coming in off leases and loans now...should see more this fall!
lizzurd 09-14-2007, 09:25 AM Congrats on your GGM!! Never thought I'd have a green car but GGM grabbed me, too.:)
GGM and snow just seem a natural match....
