xradchadx - Where did you get it? Gow much? Do you just bungee bags and crap on top of it?

Also - What kind of tires are those? They look good. I like the look of the Surco rack....want to get one as well.

Cornball: I got it from Autoanything.com for $291. Great website. As far as securing items, I've got one of those bungee nets and some straps, should do just fine.
The tires are Nokian Vativa 235/70's. The tires are really awesome but I wish I could've got something else. They're A/T's, but just not near as aggressive as I'd like. But when you live in Alaska, it's pretty slim pickins.

Very nice rack! That's fairly cheap for a beefy rack like that!

For the tires, if you want something more aggressive you could go like Pigryder did and get a set of Kumho Road Venture KL71's - they're quite aggressive and all I've seen about them says they're great on just about anything. I'm getting a set for myself for winter and mud as soon as I can locate someone with a set of rims they want to unload!

One last question: Did you drive your E through the mud and then wipe it down for this picture? I dont see any mud on the wheel wells....are you that much of an E freak? :)

You caught him, the Rack is so heavy duty he helicoptered the Element in ........using the Rack as the tie-off points

That's hilarious. Actually it was just standing water, no mud. Great comments though.

ok the big question...what's the rack made of? Aluminum? Steel? What's the load rating on it?

And closer pics!

mileage hit? I'm curious because I have the honda rack but don't really NEED it (though I like the looks)

Love the looks of yours... you should build a little house on it, would be hilarious.

Aw admit you wiped it down for the shot. Come on, I don't even see "standing water" on your E!

Is there any noise or wind-resistence you notice with your roof racks?

Twilightzero: The rack is aluminum. Load rating is more than a person would wanna put up there. I can stand on it, but I'm only 180.

Improv: I can't see a difference yet, but I'm getting ready to go on a 600 mile trip next week with it loaded down, so I'll let everyone know how it does.

Hab Mobile: I can't hear any noise. The element is too noisy on its own to begin with.

The only thing I don't like so far about it are the floor slats. The dang things are too far apart. I might buy the floor kit.

Just grab a piece of 1/4" green treat plywood and fasten it down up there, that'll do the trick :D
