I don't know all the details, it rolled 7 times and the driver (the only one in it) walked away.

Just sent this to my sister, she just bought a POS Hyundai. First week backed into another vehicle at a very slow speed, $1,500 damage. I hit a deer in the E, $1,000 damage.

wow, walked away?

is the rear door open and the front off due to 'jaws of life' can-opening to extract the driver?

I couldn't agree more! I 'Flipped' mine, **still consider it a roll over* and that was the first thing I did, buy another one!

Oh, and I walked away from mine, as did Joe.

Where did this happen, and who did it happen to? Was it a fello EOC'r? I hope they are doing okay? Do you know the circumstances of the crash? Anyone else hurt?

somewhere on hwy99 in Northern California. It was someone our UPS rep knew. I didn't get a lot of details with the pictures.

I can ease you mind.....it wasn't TPR....it was rally red or SOP....the rims give it away as an older model.

The E isn't that safe, but I think it is better than most SUVs. Rollovers are the #1 cause of death in accidents, if I'm not mistaken, and the chances of rolling over an E is greater than a sedan.

I would lean more towards SOP, as the front bumper is the lighter grey color, where the Rally red had the black panels. This just makes our SOPs worth more as now there are less of them.

How could that be SOP? SOP is orange man, that's red :P

Hmmmm ....... wonder if there's any interior parts to salvage for a mod :D

That's a Rallye Red, no question. And do my eyes deceive me, or is that a Gutter Guard grille?

that may well be, but I see there isn't a home depot grill guard, so the condenser is probably trashed....

But, yea mod parts. :D I like the way you're thinking.

Um, gonna have to disagree with you, since I now know 2 people who's Es rolled or flipped. Myself being one, and this poor guy.

Both of us, to include my DH, walked away from this type of accident virtually unmarked.

Okay, so they literally taped me to a back board and carried me out, but again, that was for precaution only. I did suffer a small puncture whole in my left upper arm, but it's healed nicely.

So, you ask, what I did? I went right out and took the money USAA gave me and bought another one. :D

OH & that is DEFINATELY a RALLY RED, I'd do a side-by-side with my SOP, but damit, I still haven't gotten around to having the 2 rolls of film developed. LOLOL

:???: WOW, how scarey that is.

We were loaded down with live ammo, a few baynonets, and 5 to 6 WWII vintage Fire arms. Plus a boat load of other Re-enacting gear.

None of it made it's way forward and none of it was secured properly.

We got extremely lucky as this poor woman did!

Any news on how she's fairng? I hydroplained in the rain, and still having issues with driving in the Rain. :-?

NOPE, all 4 brand new BFGoodrich ATs. and I lost all 4 tires in the crash, blew them out completely when we came to a stand still.

That is most certainly an SOP Element. it is either a 2003 or 2004 model. TRP didn't come out until 2005 and this isn't a 2005 model. Check the plastic along under the door where it connects to the rear fender and you'll see this isn't an '05 but is actually an '03 or '04.

The amazing thing about that wreck is that it landed between the lines of that parking spot!

It's all physics and center of gravity. Ever read the imprinted warning about rollover on the driver's side sun visor? It may be an SUV crossover, but it's still riding considerably high.

Amazing that she walked away from that accident. The thing looks absolutely destroyed.

Actually the 2003/04 models could be purchased with front side airbags, that's what the EX-S stands for. :)

Exactly!

Dark green arrows are purchase points for jaws of life. Can see a slight dent in the rear door as well from this. The light arrow shows where they cut the seatbelt to get the driver out.

"walked away" is definitely an exaggeration if they had to pop the door and cut the seatbelt to get her out. Almost surely they backboarded her (and rightly so!) for such a serious accident and with a pinned party such as this.

Maybe she "walked away" from the hospital after they checked her out:-D
