I bought a used 03 Honda Element EX Cd Player and am trying to place it in my 00 Accord EX Coupe (was told this is plug and play)
It plugs in fine and gets power; however when I turn on the Element radio it says CODE... as expected. I enter the code (have the actual Honda code card for the unit) but nothing happens. It still says CODE and is like I never hit any button and does not show the number I am pressing when I am entering the code.

The back of the code card says if it still says code to reenter it... I trying entering it over 10 times consecutively and nothing.. just says CODE.

Am I doing something wrong or did I buy a broken radio?

My old 00 Accord EX deck would show the numbers as I punched them in and then BEEP after I finished. The Element deck is doing nothing and just says CODE.

For those of you who had to enter the code to your element radio, how do you do it?

Umm it seems I may have been given bad information. Did the 03 element eX radios have an internal amp or external amp?

If they dont have an internal amp I am wondering if that is why it is not working right in my Accord?

All EXs have an external Amp. Are you sure it is the correct code on the card? CHeck the rear of the radio for the code and make sure the code on the rear of the radio matches the code on the card you are punching in.

Yes, the code is correct. The serial numbr on the card matches the sticker on the radio. I am wondering though since I am plugging in an 00 Accord EX Coupe Harness and no amp is the reason it wont accept and codes... I guess its kind of pointless anyway. If it did work there would be no sound since no amp :confused:
