I had a little fun off the road this weekend. There is nothing like a muddy trail after the rain!

Great images!

Looks like alot of fun and the E looks like it is having a blast.

So how did she drive? Ever start to lose it?

jedi- The car was handling the mud amazingly. I was very surprised. When you
keep in mind that it's not a true off-road car. Hitting the curves at over 40 mph in pure mud in the car stayed on track nicely. After six months.... I'm more than satisfied. It survived most of all my tests. More ground clearance would be fine but nobody's perfect...

Jealous, that looks like a blast. How fast were you hitting that puddle in the 1st pic.

I would say about 45 mph norcal.

Those are nice action shots - the mud shoooting up in the air looks cool.

Very cool shots, Frankthif! That first one doesn't even look real. Wow!

While they do look cool, and it looks like a blast, I have so interject here. My tree-hugger side is just itching to comment. That is probably the single most damaging thing you can do to those trails. IMHO, if your going to head out and do stuff like that, great, have a blast, but then when it dries up, go out and have a trail day and give something back to the place that gives you so much fun.

I don't mean to start anything here but...the rain itself does way more damage that a single car driving thru the water.

But with that I would like to add the following picture to this topic.

The rain will naturally erode the ground, tearing through the mud with 4 tires is entirely different. There is a natural cycle of erosion, transportation and deposition, and it finds a happy rate, you will never see tire ruts in the woods from rain alone.

a2j812- Just to reassure you... The trail you see belongs to me and I'm taking care of the maintenance. It's a private road deep in the woods that goes up to my cabin. Because it is 200 miles north of Montreal the winter is incredibly aggressive there. Snow melting is a lot worst! I have to rebuild the trail almost every spring. And just for that picture... it was worth it!!!

Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. I was trying to get all the thru it but with the rain the washes were impassable so had to turn around. But the part we did was still worth the effort.
