: Jasmine Makes Her Modelling Debut!
Big Blue 09-16-2007, 10:22 PM Okay - so I'm a little excited...
My small dog Jasmine will be strutting her stuff down the 'dog walk' at a "Pampered Pooch Celebrity Fashion Show" on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
I never thought I'd have a dog that models!! :-P
This all came about because as some of you know, I work at the local Humane Society. The criteria for the dogs in this fashion show is that they were adopted from the Humane Society, are good with other dogs, are okay being without their owners for a period of time and are okay wearing clothing.
Jasmine fit the bill so I put her name in. The girls in the department arranging this event were more than thrilled to have her on board - they're in love with her (and I must say, how could you not be! ;-) )
I'll post the pictures after the weekend... I'm really excited to see what she'll be wearing.
As I'm posting this I just realized- I'm a crazy dog lady! :-o
This is her sitting on my lap... we were on the EOC message board (as you can see in the background :-P )
Twilightzero 09-17-2007, 10:13 AM LOL what a cutiepie :D
You definitely have to post pics of the fashion show!
DogMother 09-17-2007, 12:03 PM Jasmine is one cute pup!!!
Watch out or her diva-ness might go to her head. :D

Big Blue 09-17-2007, 12:10 PM Thanks Twilight and DogMother :)
I'm so excited for the shows!!
Obviously I had to adopt her when I met her here... she's such a sweetheart and one of the best tempered dogs I've ever known. I'm not sure what she's crossed with - a little Jack Russell but the rest - who knows!!
I'll be taking tons of pictures though and will be sharing them with the world. I feel like one of those freaky beauty queen mom's now, lol.
I bought new shampoo yesterday and will be spiffing her up for the weekend which will include a bath, nail trim and a bit of a hair cut to tidy her up a bit
Twilightzero 09-17-2007, 01:16 PM If it were up to me I'd say leave the hair, it gives her individual-ness :D
But I'm sure she'll look fabulous either way!
Big Blue 09-17-2007, 02:25 PM I agree Twilight!
I won't be cutting off her scraggly hair. Just trimming the hair that grows up off her nose and into her eyes and the crazy hair on head that tends to curl forward and into her eyes - just a little clean-up so she can see :)
All that crazy hair totally gives her lots of character. Especially the three strands that hang down off each ear (Papillon style). Every time she gets excited and her ears perk up it's so pronounced with those peices of hair!
This is a picture of her big brother Jerome cuddling her. He should've been born a female because he makes a fabulous Mommy!
Twilightzero 09-17-2007, 02:29 PM CUUUUUUUUUTE! :D
Jerome looks like a sweetheart too!
Big Blue 09-17-2007, 03:20 PM Thanks Twilight :)
I could go on and on about my dogs, lol. Jerome is my soul-mate. Sounds cheesy but I honestly feel that he was put on this earth just for me. He's definitely my kindred spirit and un-like any animal I've ever known. We've had him since he was 3 months old and he's turning 3 this December (already! )
He's very maternal towards my other 2 dogs and cat and is constantly snuggling and grooming all 3 of them. Although the cat isn't always thrilled about having a giant dog tongue licking his face but it's so cute when he lets Jerome do his thing :)
Twilightzero 09-17-2007, 03:27 PM LOL I know exactly how that works, except we have the exact opposite. Our little grey fuzzy girl kitty absolutely LOVES our aussie and will sit on her front paws, wrapped around her muzzle, and lick her head for half an hour at a time. It's absolutely adorable!! It's a good thing our Aussie loves cats too, even when we find cats on the sidewalk she always wants to go up and say hi :D
DogMother 09-17-2007, 03:32 PM That is such a sweet picture of your pups. I love the mohawk that Jasmine is sporting. :D
Big Blue 09-17-2007, 03:33 PM Awwww!! That's adorable Twilight!!! A dog loving kitty, lol. You have to post pictures of that!!
Doesn't it just melt your heart every time?
Ocassionally my cat will lick the dogs. He prefers our Husky Cross female though for some reason! Rarely does he bother with Jerome or Jasmine
Big Blue 09-17-2007, 03:35 PM Thanks DogMother - we do that to her all the time :-)
I can't not!! She has that hair that you can just mold into whatever so we give her mohawks, the classic Donald Trump combover - really anything is possible with that crazy hair!
Twilightzero 09-17-2007, 04:16 PM Awwww!! That's adorable Twilight!!! A dog loving kitty, lol. You have to post pictures of that!!

We try but they always do it when we're sitting on the couch, and as soon as you move to get the camera they stop
perfdata 09-17-2007, 04:38 PM Congratulations from The Rio!

Big Blue 09-17-2007, 04:53 PM Ooohhhh what a handsome boy!!
Big Blue 09-17-2007, 09:57 PM Oh Twilight - I know exactly what you mean!! You can always take cute pictures, but when you try to get the 'cutest' picture they all get up and come towards me like the camera is a new thing to them
But sometimes they do confuse the red light that comes off the camera with the laser pointer which they LOVE to play with! :-P
Twilightzero 09-17-2007, 10:57 PM Finally caught them! They try to look innocent but we all know better!

You can tell that they were trying to look innocent but got caught in 'the act'. Those are awesome pictures! 8-)
And lurking cat is too cute hiding in his cat tree
ORANGEE 09-20-2007, 09:06 AM Twi, that could NEVER happen in my house, Cats are a tasty treat in my boyz view - taste like squirell

LurkingCat loves his homemade cat climber  He's actually yawning but shhhh don't let his secret out!
Orangee, I guess my dogs both grew up with cats in the house so they just don't view them as food. The other dog puts up with them but gets cranky when they get too close. But our aussie absolutely LOVES cats and takes every opportunity to sniff and get friendly with them!
