Okay it is on! The 2007 Made In USA Emblem Group Buy part 2.

I have been in touch with FFTravisM’s contact in Japan at jsgarage and it looks like we need a minimum of 10 and the price to you would be ~$35.00 shipped.

Please PM me if you would like to be added or removed from the list or if you would like to change the quantity of your order. I plan on ordering a few extra if my finances allow.

Note - I will be out of town 9/28-10/2 for the Honolulu Century ride so don't panic if I don't reply between those dates.

I just sent payment to j-garage for 20 Made in the USA emblems. At this point 17 are spoken for including mine so that leaves room for 3 more people to get in on the group buy.

Sorry, no paypal. Since this was my first time doing anything like this, I was trying to keep it as simple as possible for me. I know once it is set up paypal would have been easier than running ot the bank or post office with checks or MOs but since I was already converitng dollars to yen and back, I wanted to make sure that the price I quoted was going to cover shipping and I was afraid paypal would eat into that.

Per the tracking number sent me by J's Garage, the emblems have cleared customs and left San Francisco yesterday.

I just stopped at the post office on my way to work and picked up the emblems. My plans is to count and make sure they are all there then start shipping to people who have already paid this weekend.

Which, the Element or the emblem? :D

The Element was conceived, designed, and is completely built in the good 'ol USA. Currently they're all assembled out of the East Liberty, Ohio Honda plant. The emblems are from when, for a short time, they were importing the Elements in Japan. They didn't sell well, though, as they're too big for a lot of areas in Japan. They tend to prefer REALLY small cars (kei cars mostly) and their gas prices are also outrageous. We're obtaining them from a place called J's Garage in Japan who apparently has a stockpile of them, but when they're gone, they're gone.

I think J's garage is actually getting thme from Honda somehow and anyone who wants one can order from them but to order one isn't really worth it since it would cost around $40-50 with shipping. The thing the group buy saves the most on is shipping for some reason. Still, not sure how long they will be around.

The emblem, according to the packaging, is Made in Japan.

I ordered 20 emblems total so there are a few extra. I have one person on a "waiting list" already and will add TN3M3L3 to it.

I received my two Japanese "Made in the USA" emblems at 2:30 this afternoon.
The mail from Washington state to Pennsylvania is apparently faster than the mail from my house to Pittsburgh (50 miles!). Now I have to wait for the snow flurries and rain to stop.

Got my emblem today around 2pm. I'm in Maryland, too. Thanks Matt!

Glad to here they are getting there okay. Priority Mail is pretty quick in most cases, I think it is supposed to be there in 3-4 days.

Okay, I have PM'd the 4 people who were on the orginal group by order list who haven't paid. Their emblems have been set aside pending payment. That leaves me with three left over. I'm going to go through the posts and my PM's to see who had first dibs and contact those people.

If I haven't heard from the other 4 by the end of Dec I will put thir emblems up for sale here or on e-bay.

My daughter pointed out that the Made in America emblem is made in Japan:D. I guess they got added on there that's why you can't get them through Honda here:-(. Drew:)

I recall that the Japan models had the emblem placed about 1" to the right of the "ELEMENT" letters.
I have an SC, so it would have looked a little weird there so I placed it on the right edge of the tailgate to balance everything out.

Mine was done at the same temp and is still there. The stuff is really sticky.

I forgot that it was suppose to be about an 1" to the right and lined it up with the "ELEMENT" letters spaced about as far apart as the letters. Much easier to eyeball that way and looks like it is all one emblem.

Pic???? I was thinking the right side of the drop half of the tailgate...kinda worried the right side of the tailgate might look busy... I did see an E in my travels that the owner had placed the Element script near the bottom of the suicide doors, looked good...

I am set-up newest to oldest.. the default I think is old to new... but I seemed to spend alot of effort scrolling forward and changed it ....
is there an easier way to set-up that save scrolling and rereading threads?

I would seem an easier convention to direct someone to number 42 which stays the same regardless of the direction and the number of entries one has set per page....

Just direct me to a users guide if I am off base...

Here is a pic of the emblem i pulled off the Japanese owners club site....not a very good pic...but it does show the JDM placement.

Thanks yet again I received it in today's mail... It will go on this Monday when I must visit the body shop for another vehicle... He has a steadier hand for such things....

The picture solves the issue....

A subtle point is that the emblem is actually justified with the TOP of the Element logo Ah so.....

At one time I traveled to Japan annually and could have muled such parts back.... Still have the contacts but don't make the trips...

Some place in my house, I have two extra from this group buy. Can't find them right now though.

Otherwise, the best way to do it would be to start anouther group buy. You don't save on the parts but you save a bunch on shipping as they come from Japan. I think with the exchange rate and shipping it would be around $50 to buy just one.

If anyone wants to take on the group buy let me know and I'll track down the contact info again. If I could get 10 people to prepay, I'd consider doing it again.

My 06 Kiwi is just 5 days old and I've been hungrily absorbing the collected E lore and minutiae since then. I had no idea this sub-culture existed! I'm excited to start modding the E - first one will be the HD grille guard - as I've not been a gear-head, but I figure, "what's one more expensive hobby?"

That said, I decoded the VIN and determined that the E is, in fact, made in USA. I'd like to get an emblem, are they still available or is there any interest in another group buy?

This thread is a bit old but if anyone gets another group buy together add me to the list. I'm getting tired of all the hate from the "buy American, save GM" crowd, maybe this will shut them up.

I thought I had a couple left from the Group Buy but I misplaced them. Both these and the JDM R/H door handles came from the same supplier in Japan. Not sure if they can still get them but if any one is intrested in setting up a group buy PM me and I'll give you the contact info.
