: K&N Cold Air Intake
Shurgomon 08-26-2003, 11:04 PM My Element is spending the night at K&N Engineering getting fitted for the about-to-be released K&N Element cold air intake kit. If all goes well, I will be driving the E home tomorrow morning with a few extra horsepower! Needless to say, I am quite excited.
Once they give me the go ahead, I will post a pic and let you all know how it went.
crazy canadian 08-26-2003, 11:38 PM sounds good. Can't wait to hear about the results.
yellowturbo 08-27-2003, 08:12 AM cool...so you wont pay for this intake im sure !!!
sspiller 08-27-2003, 06:49 PM Just installed the K&N air filter for the stock box, waiting for the typhoon, anybody know if the release will be october 1st or december 31st?
Shurgomon 08-27-2003, 07:07 PM I must say I love the kit! It gives the E a nice boost in HP, and a meaner sounding engine. I asked when they planned on releasing it, however they aren't sure yet.
Unfortunately, I cannot post pictures, or give out any other details until the kit is released.
Slowhand 08-28-2003, 05:59 AM Are they going to have a graph of the dyno before and after. I'd be highly interested in comparing that with the Injen.
crazy canadian 08-28-2003, 07:10 PM did they tell you what it's going to retail for??
Shurgomon 08-28-2003, 11:43 PM I asked about the retail price, and mentioned that a few people on this board might be interested in it. They will e-mail me once they have set the price... maybe we can work a deal for EOC.
They dyno'd the car 14 times, but didn't let me keep the graphs. The highest gains were shown around 29 HP (which is insane for a CAI).
elementarywatson 08-29-2003, 06:00 AM Just to let you know that www.enjen.com has a CAI and it has Dynoed at 10 to 12 HP "at the wheels". I will install mine Saturday. Other installations have realized a big increase in accelerator response and torque. It costs $173.00. It comes in two pieces, a short ram for wet conditions and a cold air extension for normal. SSM, Side steps, splash guards that's all. Ya gotta love it.
elementarywatson 08-29-2003, 06:03 AM Here's a link to photos, specs and a dyno. http://www.hondaelement.org/showthread.php?s=67a9a2fb4918af9d18dc05256287d144&threadid=2769
elementarywatson 08-29-2003, 06:05 AM Place the order thru www.adventon.com $173.00!!!
crazy canadian 08-29-2003, 09:23 PM Does anyone know how the added H.P. will effect gas mileage??
voodoo 08-30-2003, 08:08 PM So far with the Injen gas mileage is up 1mpg.
I'm trying this week to keep my foot out of it (love the sound) and see what the real increase in mpg will be.

crazy canadian 09-25-2003, 01:55 AM any new info??
HBElement 09-25-2003, 03:54 PM I will be interested once they are released, I also want to do exhaust. Has anyone done exhaust mods yet??
elementarywatson 09-26-2003, 02:37 AM To HEK, I'm sure others have picked up on that. Thanks, Watson. P.S. I'm really enjoying my Injentech CAI.
ChumsGum 10-01-2003, 06:49 PM I've read that you couldn't use the Honda fog lamps with the Injen CAI, is this true?

Yes it's true.......I found out the hard way. then again this can be true for any CAI that places the filter in that location. I had to use the short ram system, which is ok for the winter months, but I plan on changing the stock Honda fogs to Piaas in the spring. The Piaa lights are more compact and allowing for the filter to fit properly behind the fog light housing.
lae10851 10-01-2003, 09:10 PM :D Gotta luv men. My honey just ordered my E a CAI. I can't wait!!!!
lae10851 10-01-2003, 09:12 PM BTW anybody know how the specs are for a 4wd Auto?
lae10851 10-06-2003, 11:04 PM Injen CAI installed today. You can really feel the extra hp! Makes it actually sound like a Honda too. (Was talking to my little brother who speciallizes in imports on the cell phone and he said "are you in your Element????"
Absolutely!
Cant wait for the catback!

1st of all my wife wasn't too crazy with the idea of buying an Injen for her E....(in order for VTEC to kick in my RSX-S I have to be well over 54K rpms..and of course its normally at a high speed... I have one there also  )
Now when she drives her E, she keeps it in gear longer than before , I think to hear the VTEC kick in and of course she doesn't have to be hauling ass...and she now says :..." with my Element I don't have to be on warp speed to hear it...like yours... ..almost as if she was happier driving it now than before the installation..weird uh??...but cool , know she loves it....hey check your gas milage and see if it goes up... ..of course after the newness wears off because you will see an increase once you stop bringing it to redline.....trust me is hard... :)
