I got a new kitten. He like to climb the baby gate. I put some cardboard on top to create an overhang. About 10 minutes later, he came running up to me. I thought nah, it didn't happen, so I put him back in the "pen". A few minutes later he is out. I told my older cat that she is not to help him escape. After studying the pen, I found the flaw, there was a small area at the top where I thought he couldn't get through, I was wrong. So I patched the hole and now the howling begins, as he can't get out now.

This will last 2 days. Tops. :D

I know well the troubles of cat confinement, as I have a cat who can even open tupperware... Good luck, you're much better off giving him the run of the place!

He is a bit too little to run around unsupervised just yet. When I get home, I let him run around in the bedroom and hallway. That way I can supervise him and my older cat, to make sure they don't tear the place apart fighting with each other. The older one has become more accepting and even let him sniff around some of her toys. She still hisses but it is far and in between. My older cat likes him being confined, as she sits on teh other side of the baby gate now, I am guessing just to get a bit more familiar with him.

Do you have a cat carrier? I found it extremely helpful to have them take turns in the carrier so the other one can come up and sniff/whatever on their leisure without fear of being clawed.

Pictures soon. I got home and let the kitten out. My older cat ran up and sniffed, then in return the kitten sniffed back. No more hissing at all, but for the next 45 minutes my place was like a race track. This is a good sign, as they are chasing each other and playing. I think my older cat was threatened at first by her little brother, now she realizes he is here to stay and so is she. I would have pics, but the rechargables for my camera suck, so I should have some within the next day.

I came home yesterday to my dog running free in my house. He is normally in a wire kennel, in my bedroom. He somehow houdini'd his way out of the wire kennel. The door was still latched and the the kennel was on it's side. I would loved to have seen him wriggling free....had to be hilarious.
