Yo Daisy: Looking good! Where did your husband get those? I may be interested in them. If you get a chance take a look at my SOP and see if you think they would match the inside. It may be a bit too much, I don't know. Just open the thread, "No Words Needed" and see what you think. Good luck with your E and post more pics.

I did the same mod to my Tango Red Pearl and I colored the stiching red. Did it when the shift knob first came out and its still holding its color well. Amazing what a Sharpie can do.

Hey Daisy0405, I've been down your way on one of my annual visits to Savannah, GA. Love me some Low Country cooking and picked me up some sweet grass basket while there too. Beautiful country!

Sweet grass baskets are handmade baskets made by the Ghala (sp). The grass is native to the area and they, go through the process of turning them into beautiful baskets and other crafts. There are places selling them all over in the area. I know in Charleston they have a market that has them everywhere.

Its a dying art form. The elders are trying to pass it on to the younger generation but you know how children can be. Some are learning the art and therefore making it a living by creating these baskets. I personally have two. One is a like a serving tray while the other is a nice 9x12 basket. If I ever get back to the area, I'll be pickin up some more for sure.

Since you're in Beaufort, you should make your way over to Savannah, GA and visit Lady and Son's. Its a great place to eat. Hang out on River street and go to Tybee Island and check things out. If I could pack up right now and move to anyplace in the US, Savannah would be my first pick place, followed by San Diego, then La Jolla, then Hilton Head.

They also have a leather shift knob on the same link page thats shown on a Civic and it has red stitch. It will fit the Element.

Chozn...That's actually a brilliant idea, now I can buy the leather SC knob and dye the stitching.

Thanks,

Thanks babylac89! I don't know about being brilliant but it worked for me. I knew if I didn't like the end result I could go ahead and make the stitching black, no big deal. I also referred someone that had another color Element that they could probably take some bleach and use a dropper to bleach out the stitching that it comes with, then put a little water on it to stop the process, dry it and then take a Sharpie in the color they want and go over the stitches a couple of times and it'll be a done deal. Since the stitching isn't waxed like the steering wheel cover, it should take, no problem.

Thankfully I just want to dye it black, so the process is going to be a lot easier. It has to be a brilliant idea, because it's been there right in front of us for the past year, and it's the first post I've seen on the idea. So for me, thanks again!

No problem. I'm always looking at ways of changing thinks to makeit work for my TRP. The shifter had a nice look but the color did nothing for mine so the change was a must. Glad you like the idea and I know it'll work for you. Show some pics once you get it done.

Nothing says sporting like feeling the fine leather grip of the slushbox's computerized selector level!

8) Looks good!

If the E had been available with a normal column shifter and didn't have the big subwoofer box in the middle, I'd have settled for an automatic. If I'm going to bash my right knee on an bulky console with an intrusive level jutting out of it, I may as well have the manual shifting fun to go with it, right?

Paula Deans place is the place for good food! I go there every year and had dinner there on Thanksgiving two years ago. Great food! I have one of her cook books as well. She's located on congress street there in Savannah.

La Jolla is nice! I've been there probably around 5 or 6 times. I took the wife there three years ago and we stayed at the Scripps Inn which is beach front. No AC but its nice to have the windows open and hear the rush of the ocean during the night when things get quiet and still. The seals sun bathing on the beach and rocks. They let you get right up on them and have no fear of getting away from you. La Jolla. Its a rich town but I could live and die there as long as I had a beach front property and my honey, my Element and our two yorkies.

Nothing says sporting, like the fine leather grip of a 2006 4WD EX-P MT on it's way, totally, and completely, out of the State of California!
