Hey can I join your cool club!!

I got my 2008 Element LX 2wd on Saturday (last day of the month, snowing, yup snowing, and saturday equals great deal). Am I crazy for wanting the base model so I could customize the car the way I wanted it? anyway, I know a lot of you are calling your cars your "e". I want to call mine my "L" (like "LMNT") you know. Can we still be friends?

Okay, I kid, but I don't want to be that N00b that is asking all the same questions, but the salesman, who acted like he new everything (as is their wont) gave me all the crap lines (hosing down the interior, didn't know where the carabiner was in the seat, etc...), so I wanted to talk to the experts.

Generally, can I rely on the information on older LMNTs to apply to my 2008 or should I just keep it to 2007's? The dealer didn't have an accessory catalog for 2008 so I assumed somethings weren't the same, but Honda's website no longer offers the armrest, the ipod link and a couple of other things for the 2008.

Welcome to the EOC. There are a few things that are not the same on the pre 2007 E but not much. Mostly wire harnesses, side air bag seats, a few interior changes and a bit more horse power.

Welcome to the club and to the family! You'll enjoy the Element no matter which model you have chosen, or should I have said chozn.:D

Anyway, SNOW? Damn man! It can't come too soon for me. I'm already dreading:cry: it but the sooner it gets here the sooner '08 and spring will come.
Never been to Utah though I knew one or two officers that worked for the highway patrol and I had some training with them over the years. Imagine that's God's country up there. You'll have to post some pics of the E and the locale there.

For Honda items, please use our Sponser HandA, the prices are cheaper then your local dealer and they help keep this site up and running.......and to top it off, they are great people (or E-ple as we say here)

It snowed one day and the next I was up in the mountains with shorts on. Thus is Utah :wink:. I'll wait until I mod my L up a bit before I post pics (you guys know what standard Elements look like).

First off, welcome to the EOC! And for most, mods or parts you get from HandA they have installation instructions posted on the website.:)

Also, I think all new cars need names, am I right?

So I think I have decided to name my new "EL", "El Guapo".

Check out the DIY section of the forum, it's got info on just about anything DIY-related for the Element. My favorite place...:rolleyes:

For accessories, there's very very little different accessory-wise with the 2007/2008 models. The 2007/2008 stereo head unit IS different and warrants some looking into. I had the same trouble when I got my 2007 in January - everybody listed all of their accessories as not fitting the 2007. Turns out they're essentially all compatible just fine, they were just too lazy to update their parts list.
