is how it turns off the passenger airbag whenever one of my dogs rides shotgun. It's the kind of safety feature that makes a dogperson smile!
But I'm also glad it doesn't beep in protest for not wearing their seatbelt ;-)

That depends entirely on the weight of one's dog. :)

Yeah I thought it was measured up to 40lbs? But I'd have to pull the manual out to be sure.

I think it's set at 65lbs... Ganja is 35 lbs and Pepper is 40...if they both are sitting in the front seat the seatbelt thing beeps like crazy but if it's just one or the other it never goes off.

You know, it's not such a bad thing to have a seat belt on that dog -
a harness could well save the dogs life.
The back seat is safer though. The airbag on mine doesn't turn off unless one of the boys is very close to the door.

Megan rides in the back in her kennel cage (secured to the tie-down bracket) or belted in if she's on the seat.
I used to let her ride in front, because she is about 40 lbs, but then she's always trying to drive, whistles at other dogs, and nags me to stop at every Starbucks or Petsmart.

Ganja.... great name!
All three pups combined weigh < 65#, two Bostons and a Bichon. I've used the seatbelt harness before, but in the E they seem to enjoy walking around like it was the scenic car on the Amtrak. Who wouldn't?!
I've never owned a car with a passenger airbag sensor, all others had a switch to deactivate it.

Ganja.... great name!
Thanks! Although I can't take credit. My boyfriend named her. If she had been a boy she would have been Spliff. :)

Thanks for the invite, I am tempted. One of my dogs is seeing the cardiologist next week for her one-year follow-up (vet said she had "months"). I could make a daytrip, FUG is only 75 minutes away.
I'll PM you later as the day gets closer. But thanks again!
