: Washing the E made me happy

I've just got to say that washing the Element is more fun than it was with my old truck. I had a 1997 LandRover Discovery. The first thing I notice when I washed the Element for the first time was how smooth it is, I all the lines move together and the sponge just glides over everything in one fluid motion. What a joy. On the LandRover, there were all these places that snagged the sponge or nicked my fingers. I'll miss the leather, but I love the Element. :D

I believe there is something in the paint that when mixed with soap and water give off those "happy fumes":D

I'm happy for you. I wish I could wash mine, but I can't bring myself to do it because GA is having such a bad drought.

I know the carwash uses less water, but they still use some, so I'd even feel guilty about using them.

gfxguy made me feel guilty since we're also in a drought in Florida. It's hard to heed the warnings when it's raining every day (just not in the right places). I may be go'n to hell, but I'll be go'n in a clean car!

Wait 'til you decide to clean the inside. Last Sunday I took out the back seats and all cargo and mopped away. Sweet and easy! :)

It's obvious you haven't checked out The Rube's E and Fujiisan's E. We put leather seats in our E's and they look awesome. I believe a couple of others did too. So you have no excuse for not having leather seats. BTW - if you enjoy washing your car you definitely belong in my group. Those who know me know that I keep (or try my darn-dest) to keep my SOP looking "marvelous". I'm "old school" and still make it a point to wash my car at least twice a month (more in the summer). When you have time check out a few of the threads about leather seats and you'll see what I'm talking about. Best of luck with it and keep it "shiny".:D

P.S. Watch out Gisele is always looking for someone to wash her car (or so I've heard).:lol:

What about the airbags, i thought that we weren't even supposed to put seat covers over those things. I've got this irrational fear that at any moment all my airbags are going to pop at once and the rig will explode.

Anyone is welcome to come down to Hollywood, FL we'll have a bikini carr wash (you bring the bikini), they just removed our water restrictions.

Kind of off topic but washing my car is a great stress releaver for me.

I dont know why but it is. Maybe its the negative ions in the water.

It seems like whenever I wash my car it rains. Like that same night.

And the West Texas limestone that's in the water tends to dry all spotty and makes E look even worse. I guess it's time to get a shammy.
