: MY first Element
Rob's Element 11-07-2007, 10:51 PM Hello all,
I just traded in my Hyundai Sonata for a 08 LX Element and I absolutely LOVE THIS VEHICLE! I do mobile DJ work here and there and stuffing my gear into a sedan is just plain back breaking and not ALL my gear fit in there.I was going to keep the car and just buy some old mini van or something like that but decided that the Element was just..........well.......more me. I didn't want to spend alot of money so the LX was all I needed with 2wd in all black, even the wheel covers looked good enough for me (although,I can see me getting aftermarket wheels at some point).Anyway,I just wanted to touch base with the rest of the Element owners out there to introduce myself and share my joy. Thanks!

You do know you have to post pictures as soon as you can. Were pEEpers around here, love peeping at all the new Es.
You'll have a good time with this forum, not as much fun as you'll have with your E, but close!:)
ieatflux 11-07-2007, 11:33 PM you wont complain. trust me.. cept you might wish you had a v6 every now n then....
Speedy Toaster Dave 11-08-2007, 05:57 AM Rob, welcome to da club :D
gisele 11-08-2007, 06:05 AM Mobile DJ, yea the E is definitely the truck for you! Heck, you could DJ right out of the back of the E...at an EOC meet! :D
Welcome, good choice of color. -g
ORANGEE 11-08-2007, 08:20 AM Welcome to the club.......Car Club, not the one where you DJ..........although, I'm sure if you decide to go to some of the Meets the NorthEast Chapter has, they would like to enjoy some music
Post some pictures when you get a chance - I know we have/had a couple of other folks that DJ'd
Rob's Element 11-08-2007, 06:59 PM Hey,thanks for the great welcome from everyone! I have been looking at some of the events in the northeast and will try to attend some in the near future. Spinning tunes would be fun ,wouldn't it?
I promise to post pictures very soon.......I'll take some this weekend if the weather is good........I haven't even had a chance to "play" with my new E yet since I only picked it up this week and with the time change, I've been driving in the dark all week. Thanks for all the well wishing!
Rob
Welcome fellow long island ee'r. I hope you didn't have to wait a month and half for your e like I did. Enjoy! You will love it! And hi to everyone else.
tangerine07lx 11-09-2007, 02:24 AM welcome, ive had mine for the better part of a year now and i still like it as well as the day i drove it off the lot. if you decide you dont like the wheel covers you can just take them off and paint the steelies flat black, that would look nice. or do what i did and pick up a set of EX rims for cheap from someone who upgraded.
Etrigan 11-09-2007, 06:36 AM Another LI'er Congrats and bids you welcome to the EOC.
Nice color choice for your E:wink:
DesertElement 11-09-2007, 11:31 AM Hey Rob,
Good choice on the vehicle! I also Deejay, and I must say, it is so nice to have the storage in the back for the equipment. I usually bring a full length coffin loaded with two tables and a 10" mixer, along with a full rack, and records. The best part about it is that if I need to bring a small sound system, my B-52 Sub, speakers and stands also fit! Mess around with the seating configuration in the back...I like to take my seats out completely for hauling the equipment, but if you fold them to the side, it works well too.
Have fun!
Rob's Element 11-09-2007, 04:48 PM This weekend,I don't have any gigs so it will be a perfect time to finally play around with my E ! I can't wait. I have 2 yamaha sv15's,2 amps,2 CD combo mixers, table tops that I use with keyboard X stands that work well. My facade, lights and a ton of stands are going to take up 'bulk' space so I want to see how much room I have with the seats folded up to the sides.......that,to me,is the most unique feature about this truck.......it's a big reason for my purchase. Let me ask this..........do the seats come out relatively easy? Because I can see me almost finding a semi-permanent spot on my garage shelf for them.......ha!
DesertElement 11-09-2007, 05:55 PM The seats are really easy to come out...I prefer to just completely remove them for the space they take up along the sides...you will have no problem getting all your gear in, with the shape of the back, it's almost like a small moving truck, and if all your goods are in road ready cases, they will fit like a puzzle.
Darth Raider 11-09-2007, 06:14 PM "WELCOME!!!" Not only do the seats come out easy, you can find plugs for the floor on ebay. Plus, quite a few people have taken the rubber truck bed liners and custom cut them to fit the entire back of their E's!. "Enjoy!!!"
