Had a great day detailing my new 08 Element SC. I had ordered in some new products, Menzerna Final Polish II & FMJ which I wanted to try out. I really liked the easy of use and the results.

Total outdoor water usage ban in effect so it will be some time before I can even attempt to get mine looking that good. Agree with the above post - gotta be one of the shiniest Es I've seen. Great job.

Appreciate the great feedback. I know there are more and more water restrictions around the country. I have read a little bit about the rinseless wash products and it is favorable.

Man Those Fog Lites Look Good On The Sc. I Have A Rbm Also, I Have All Ready Put The Spoiler On. The Fog Lites Are Going To Be Next. I CAN SEE FROM YOUR PHOTOS IT LOOKS LIKE YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME WEAR PATTERN ON THE DRIVER SIDE MAT. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED TWO SETS OF MATS FOR ME SINCE JUNE. I SET AT 2700 MILES, AND ONE SET AT 4500 MILES. KEEP YOUR EYE ON THEM.

I really wish they would get rid of those cheesy/tacky tribal seats...

Michael, thanks for the headsup on the mats, the driver mat does seem to be showing a wear pattern in less than a couple of hundred miles. Did your dealer replace just the driver side mat?

Dude, deal with it. It's not for everyone. This thread has nothing to do with what you think about his seats.

Are you using a two bucket technique when you are washing? I am about to clay bar my RBM then do the whole 9 yd detail. Zen.:D

I use two buckets one for the upper parts of main body and one for lower parts and wheels.

word, but do you use one bucket for soap and the other to rinse after each pass to take the dirt off the sponge or mitt?

I use two soap buckets and just rinse the wash mitt in the soap bucket. If I am washing off a lot of dirt I will rinse the mitt off with the hose before putting it back in the rinse bucket. Usually my cars are not that dirty. If I have caked on dirt or mud I wash it off with the hose and my hand so I don't trap the dirt in the mitt and scratch the finish.

As for cleaning and shining the dash, use Aerospace 303. It's hard to find, but well worth it.
