So the 06 LX is toast, get the '08 EX in a few days.

Never really checked into this before since the stock LX stereo had no aux input, but how exactly do you connect a non IPOD mp3 player to the aux input?

Is there a cord that goes out the headphone jack to the aux input? Actually what I have is an LG phone w/built in MP3 player that I need to connect to the aux input.

I hit 40 and turned into my dad...technology has passed me by

Just pickup a simple double male mini stereo jack from
Radio Shack( around $6 backs) and plug anything in with that
jack. Besides my IPod, I also plug my Police scanner, and Laptop.

as long as your phone has a 1/8 inch or 1/16 inch jack, you can head down to radio shack and get the appropriate cords and/or adapters to rock out in your E.

I'm confused by your question...there is no AUX input, so how do you hook something into it? You can't, it doesn't exist. If you are talking non-iPod, there may be FM transmitters available. Or you could pick up a tape deck and use a cassette adapter.

EDIT: OK, I get it...you had an LX and are getting an EX. I had it backwards. Sorry, its raining and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

Are you wearing you pants up around your arm pits now? Nah...pants become optional once you cross the threshold :-o

Cool...thanks, that's what I thought but wanted to confirm. Not a lot of time between when I get my new E & I have to drive 8 hrs for Spanksgivings. I wanted to only make 1 trip to Radio Shack, or probably Fry's, since I loose so much time once I go in there. :D

Hah! I hit 40 this weekend, so I blew out my candles and went to the dealership and bought a new 08 EX! I have always driven full size GMC pickup trucks. This Element is really different...yah know what? I LOVE IT!

My wife and I decided that we were secure enough for me to go to college to earn my degree in History (hopefully a Masters eventually) and I needed a vehicle that gets decent mileage to and from school (110 mile round trip) three days a week. The Element is prefect.

I also tried to get the AUX/MP3 thing to work today. I have purchased my thirteen year old daughter a new Sansa MP3 player and wanted to play with it a bit in the new car....it seems to cut out every once in a while though.

Welcome to the EOC! Glad to have you join us. We're all a bit mad, but mostly harmless. Emphasis on the mostly. :)

The Element is the perfect vehicle. I'm switching jobs next week (goodbye, sweet, sweet college job, hello grown up life...yikes!) and will have roughly an hour travel time a day. I'm jealous of your 110 mile round trip!

I think this is the longest "welcome" post I've ever written to somebody...
