Well, my wife and I picked up our first Element on Friday and we're loving it, the first thing I'm trying to tacking it adding an input that works all the time.

How can I add another 1/8" input that will work all the time? I'm trying to get our Tomtom GPS unit to play through the speakers no matter what setting the stereo is on. Is this possible?

It would be easier to just get an external speaker designed for a CB and hook that up to your Tom Tom.

It'd also be a lot less annoying than having the music cut-out every time the Tom Tom is saying something;
not to mention variations in volume between the two inputs, finding a way to integrate the AUX in with the FM/CD, etc.

Good idea. Amplified speakers marketed for MP3 players, portable CD players, etc., can be had for pretty cheap.

It's too bad there's not a better way to integrate with the factory head unit...say, with bluetooth. I still don't understand why bluetooth isn't an option these days in an Element factory head unit.

Shoot bluetooth just now made it in the Odyssey lineup and that's a 33-48k vehicle. Honda is behind the times compared to other manufactures in this area. Maybe when they redesign the E in 09. Drew:)
