russbuss 12-19-2007, 12:51 PM you bought this used? it looks brand spankin' new! congrats on your purchase.
bh241 12-19-2007, 12:54 PM still no dogs...
It looks really good Larry, almost shiny even. :)
Let the moddin' begin!
LarryBones 12-19-2007, 01:05 PM thanks guys.
yea, it's a 03 with 67,000 miles.
got the whole car for 9grand. mechanically perfect, everything.
so, i'm about to go down to Home Depot and get a grill for the bottom, cause I see some bent radiator fins already and it just makes me cringe.
coming soon, is a custom made Coco Mat for the entire car. My friend's company makes the cocomats, so i'll be getting a set for free. But you guys should check it out. It's all natural woven fabrics, and they used to be factory Porsche mats back in the day.
thanks again guys,
keep the comments coming.

bh241 12-19-2007, 01:08 PM 9k - not bad. :)
do you have a link to the Coco Mats?
Good thing about the grill guard, it's well worth the money/effort.
ORANGEE 12-19-2007, 01:08 PM YOU GOT A DEAL
But any savings will be eaten up in mod's
Nice pic's LarryBones - keep'em coming

mid"E" 12-19-2007, 03:09 PM Thats a nice clean lookin SOP.Looks well cared for and decent miles as well, welcome to the family, now get busy with some mods.:)
gisele 12-19-2007, 06:41 PM Nice. It's spotless! Does "it" have a name? -g
Sunshine 12-19-2007, 06:46 PM Ah...I love SOP. Great lookin' E!
Do you have any dogs? If so, post a photo of them too!!!
TheTANK 12-19-2007, 09:21 PM Congrats and welcome! Where in BK do you stay?
WOW you did get a good deal--I paid WAAAAY more than that for mine.
Looks GREAT! But of course that goes without saying.;-)
LarryBones 12-19-2007, 10:37 PM I live on the border of Clinton Hill and Bed-Sty.
but...no longer soon enough. I'm moving to Detroit in 2 weeks.
I want to get my stereo system done before then. I have the stuff laying around, but I just dont trust myself to do it. Fabrication i'm good at, but once it comes down to the electrical..I will call myself out.
i'm thinking of just bringing everything to a shop and have them do it.
all the conversions..and talk of miliamps, fuses...and then to match the sub enclosure with the air volume needed for the sub...
i have the sub in the enclosure, and amp. i just need to buy the wires..and then inquire about the installation.
Alaskan_Toaster 12-20-2007, 01:54 AM Congrats and welcome with the nice lookin' SOP!! Looks too shiny, needs some dirt, somewhere.......:rolleyes::razz::razz:
Good luck with the move to the big D (just moved myself, never fun).
Nice early Christmas gift!!
chozn4service 12-20-2007, 11:15 AM Welcome to the club and enjoy the Element. The SOP looks real nice and also it looks new. Seems as though it was well taken care of. Congrats!
BobTheCarGuy 12-20-2007, 12:28 PM You made a good choice. Looks positively cherry from here.
Was it a one-owner? Did you get a CarFax?
LarryBones 12-20-2007, 04:13 PM yea, the car was one owner and purchased from the dealership 20 minutes away..and lived it's whole life within the surrounding area. carfax clean..everything.
hey, I was just thinking...has anyone ever looked at an element with Acura RDX rims on it? I feel as if it'd look amazing, due to their chunkier 5 spoke design, while still keeping a little curvature on the sides of the spokes.
i'm going to do a little modding on the center console where the shifter is, and also hopefully the lower front grill tomorrow.
I will post pictures. But just as a teaser...real carbon fiber wrapping on the rounded rectangular shifter trim plate.
but still keeping it clean. thats the whole secret...clean.....

chozn4service 12-20-2007, 04:36 PM Can't say that I've seen it personally but I've always wondered what the mother in laws MDX wheels would look like on an Element. I'm not big into wheels. I mean I like them but when it comes to the offsets and all that, I'm a lost soul and would need to depend on expert help. That being said, being that Acura is a subsiderary of Honda, I would think the chances would be good that it would work but again, I'm not an expert. I know if you posed the question in the tires and wheels section you would get more response and expert info.
Peace and post pics of what you do as you go.
Congrats on the purchase!
I bought mine a week ago and absolutely love it!
givememytoys 12-20-2007, 07:00 PM I looked it up. The info i found said wheels are a 5x114.3 with a 45 offset and the right bore to fit. Looks like they are a direct replacement for the E.
LarryBones 12-20-2007, 08:35 PM mmhmm....let me do a little photoshopping..to give us all a look at what we got here...
i like rims to an extent. being that I am a car designer in training..ahem..1 more year..them hopefully one of the big autohouses will hire me to be a in house designer...I am a strong believer that the cars should be kept to a certain degree to how they left the factory. I mean...somebody out there had put their heart and soul into the beginnings of that car..so i've come to respect many cars in their stock forms. But honestly...some things are just grotesque, and others...tastefully modified or swapped parts to match the car's body lines..will only add to the vehicle's personality.
ok, enough rambling.
I get caught off track easily.
photoshopped picture coming soon, of element with RDX wheels.
Larry-
LarryBones 12-20-2007, 08:54 PM something very quick. not good at all.
you cant even see the rims that well. they're too flat. In person, they have a very nice 3-dimensional look to them. Very similar to the 350Z 50th anniversary rims.

givememytoys 12-20-2007, 09:03 PM I think they look great.
Kind of a combination of strength and sportiness sort of close to the custom rims i had on my 03.
