The Factory Component speakers in my EX do not have a "crossover" unit. Instead there is a capacitor on the tweeters to block lows. Can someone confirm this? I am installing an amp, head unit, and four speakers. The fronts are components, and before I install them, I would just like confirmation that there isn't a crossover hidden somewhere. I started on the right side, and when I got to the left was surprised to find 2 sets of wires going to the speaker (grn/black and grn.). Thanks in advance.....

Never mind. I installed the aftermarket crossovers at the amp bypass region in the passenger kick panel, and then ran a speaker wire under the dash to the drivers side.

this was the same question I had. Anyone have an answer?

The factory amp (passengers kick panel) has outputs for all four corners. If you're going to install new speakers with components, I suggest putting the crossovers on the output of the factory amp, and then extend the drivers tweeter wire behind the dash over to the passenger side, and connect it to the crossover.

Installing Aftermarket Component Speakers.

1. Remove the Passengers kick panel. It is held in with one plastic snappy thingy, and the floor kickplate. Lift the front of the kick plate, pull the base of the kick panel, and rotate the kickpanel counter-clockwise.

2. The factory amp is now exposed. Press the release latch for the 2 plugs in the bottom of the amp. Then pull the black plastic casing off of the amp, the plastic holds the wiring.

3. Green/Black = Front Left +
Green = Front Left -
Green/Yellow = Front Right +
Blue/Yellow = Front Right -

Cut these wires about 5 inches from the amp plug. Using 4 pieces of speaker wire approx 1 foot in length, lengthen the original wires. After extending them, put the green/black from the amp in the + input to the crossover. Put the green from the amp into the - input of the crossover. Put the other set of Green/black and Green into the output of the crossover for the woofer. Then run a piece of speaker wire from the crossover tweeter output to the drivers side under the dash, where you will attach the new tweeter to.

Do the same for the Right side, solder, cover with 3m electrical tape, test it, and button it up.

If you need further instruction, let me know.

This is the best I could come up with, and it sounds great.
