: What did you pay?
TyVan 01-06-2008, 07:50 PM What did you pay for your Honda Element? Particularily looking for 07 or 08 Element SC prices.
I guess when Honda ships the Element across the border they lace them with gold to make up for the $11K price difference between us and the USA.
gomad2007 01-06-2008, 08:23 PM I paid 27k cad. for a used SC with 24000 kilometers. It has many extras, remote start, rear spoiler door guards, Chrome accents, all in all it came with close to 5 grand worth of extras. Diamond Kote, Extended warranty. So all in all i am happy with this price.

Benggolf 01-06-2008, 11:37 PM MSRP on our '08 SC was C$32,695. Paid C$29,776.52 including freight/PDI. Not really a great deal considering the prices they pay south of the border.

That is pretty good though. How did you get them down that much in price?

The general sales manager of the dealership is a personal friend I have known for over 30 years. We have bought many cars and gave him lots of referrals. Asked him for a no-dicker cash price (including all rebates) and that's what he gave me. ;-) I figure the price was not too big a difference to justify the hassle of buying across the border.
Being in the car business before, I by-pass the salesmen to avoid all the BS and time consuming dicker-n-bickering.
However, at the very end of the process, a lucky salesman gets the "house-deal" when he delivers the car. Again, I never have the salesman go through the vehicle during delivery; I just pick-up the keys and drive away. :)
wolfhounder 01-07-2008, 01:53 PM are you ready for this
cash price with tax-- 36537.20
i got 9,000 trade back value on a 2004 civic coupe and then bargained off another 1000 or so. i strongly looked at options in the States. I got 0.9% financing supposed US compensation rate or something like that. I think the price difference was 8,000 between US and Canada. excuse me while i go barf
biocube 01-07-2008, 06:29 PM wow, those prices made sense when it was 70c to the dollar, but now it is robbery.

I got mine for 30,261 which included freight and PDI and block heater also. I only paid the air conditioning tax and tire tax($120 for both)on top of that plus GST. Two dealerships I went to didn't even try to match this price and I walked out. This dealership had a preferred customer sale a few months before (we previously bought a car from them so get all their mailings still) and I took note of the price. They matched it for me 3 months later still and it was still the best price I found out of about 7 dealerships I checked with.
I went in with my papers, calculator and the number I was willing to pay and they worked on it and said it is a steep discount but they did match what I asked for.
They asked if I wanted the windows etched and locking lug nuts-I said No, they were on the car when I picked it up anyhow and no one said anything so I never ended up paying for those. I think all cars are delivered with them like that anyhow, they shipped my car from another dealership 3.5 hours away for me also no extra charge.
dharma 08-03-2008, 01:15 PM New member, first post! We just imported an 07 EX AWD with 16K miles (26K kms). Bought it in WA for $17,949 (not including GST PST etc). Dealer was great - Capital City Honda in Olympia. Vehicle was certified and sales contract states they will honor factory warranty in the US (but who knows?). They had a few new and used Elements there if anyone is interested - talk to Larry or email me for more info. Look forward to learning more here as a new Element owner.
Hey Guys:
Brand new member in Abbotsford, BC. (65km/40mi East of Vancouver)
In March 2009 I bought a brand new 2008 SC 5MT (Black) for $23,500 CAD + 12% tax on the difference between price and trade in for my '07 Accord SE. It was hard to justify buying used when this baby was $8K off!!
hapyface 04-27-2009, 01:15 PM thats not that great of a deal.... shanks got AWD MT $23900 in Hamilton, ON and I got a AWD AT for $25,500 inclusive of 13% tax
But definitely better than before!
2009 SC, Auto, $30000 all in out the door.
