Is that just an exhaust tip or a whole system?

I am more interested in the tip than anything.

I need something nice to cover the factory pipe.

Dancetiludrop and I have found a place here in Indy that'll do the sunroof for $1200 I think it was, no more than $1400. Looks nice!

The wheels are sweet! I think I've seen those before. I thought they were called Hub Centric wheel. Can't recall all the particulars, I've slept several times since '04 but they're nice wheels! Very clean looking.

May have to look into that roof again. Hey Dance, maybe the place here will do a deal on two. Can't hurt to ask when we're ready.

is that just for the sunroof, or does that include installation?

In the picture where you are looking straight at the front, on the drivers side there is some damage that looks like something is poking from behind the bumper. Now my question is how did it happen because I have the exact same damage on mine, but on the passenger side? I noticed the damage on the lot before I bought mine. but always wondered if something could be wrong with it.

That included everything with a warranty as long as you own it but it was transferrable.

there is something wrong with it. in fact, with ALL elements. it drives me crazy. under the bumper cover, on both sides there is a hollow rectangular piece of metal that faces forward. if you bump into anything with your front bumper, it deforms it like that. it looks like four points because, that is the four corners of that piece. if honda would have put a flat cap on the end if those pieces, that would not happen. i will eventually get around to buying a new bumper because of it.

Know exactly what you're referring to. It's the frame. I don't know why they have it as it is and I don't think if you were find any kind of rubber cap, it would help unless you didn't hit it so hard, it could help keeping the corners from punching the cover or imprinting it. I've done some work behind the cover and wondered if in fact an inch or two could be cut off. I mean what would it hurt? The only other thing you could do is measure it and see if you can find a rubber piece to fit it or maybe take a couple of rubber mouse pads and use some wire ties to secure them on each end.

Dance, I've contacted Webasto again on their product and a local install/distributor here in Indy again. Looking at their site, they now have several here where as before, there were only two listed and the one had gone out of business. Anyway, in Fort Wayne they have FABINI AUTO TRIM, PROTINT, in Anderson, IN they have NATIONAL AUTO SPA here in Indy NATIONAL AUTO SPA is who we got our info from before our first Fall meet back in '06 and ATD OF WARNER GRAPHIC is the company that had gone out of business but is still listed. I'll try calling some of them on tomorrow to see what the deal is. I'd like to make this happen. Also the site doesn't show as many options for the Element as it did when we first checked into it. There was one single opening that that wasn't as deep as the Hollandia 524 GrandView Panoramic Sunroof , then there is the two spoiler unit and the folding unit. I personally want just the single upfront unit but if I have to settle for the Panoramic unit I will. That would take the opening back to being close to the pop up roof.

dancetiludrop
01-13-2008, 04:45 PM
I know for sure you cannot put the panoramic in a 4wd. The roof structure won't support it along with the stock sunroof. Best you could do on a 4wd is put a regular sized sunroof/moonroof in the front. That's why I sold the 4wd ABM and got the 2wd TM. :D

I talked to Fabini's this summer and they told me they no longer install Webasto, only repairs but I'd have to double check on that, so ProTint may be the only option here in Ft. Wayne....although I wounldn't mine seeing if we can get a deal on both of us going to the same place too.

chozn4service
01-13-2008, 05:05 PM
Yea, I distinctly remember there was a single glass roof for the 4WD model that I have and that's what I want. I know the guy here said $1200 on it and if I wanted the remote control unit it was another $100 but I'm not interested in that option. So I'll check with them this week. I have court in the morning and when I get back I want to try and knock out the e-Shen mod, finally.

Peace!

I don't know if this would work out in Cali, but I had limo tint on my first car ('92 Maxima) and got a few tickets for the tints, I just took a few pictures of the same car without tints and with the camera positioned in a way that the plates just so happened to be cut out of them and sent them in with a letter stating that I removed the tints. It worked. Just an idea, I'd never suggest breaking the law or anything like that! ;-)

thanks for the tip. actually after some thought i realize, i don't miss having to worry everytime i see a cop, wondering if he's gonna pull me over or if he'll just go about his business. i really do wish i could have tint on all the windows, but not at the expense of having to constantly look over my shoulder.:|

I completely agree, that was in my younger, wilder days, hahaha! When I tinted my E I decided to go legal just for that reason, but I've been considering going darker now...we'll see!

dancetiludrop

Had the same problem here too! Had 20% tint all the way around, but one local cop likes to pull everyone over for tint so after two tickets.... off it went. Have legal now and no worries.

Too much stress with illegal tint!

p.s. If you can get a perscription from a eye doctor for darker tint you can roll with that tho and be legal.

yea... some long-time members here may remember my almost-getting-my-license-revoked-after-getting-a-ticket-for-tint debacle and ranting in the forums over a year ago.

i've since taken my tint off, put my front plate on, and removed my clear rear blinkers.

i'm sick of tickets. ;)

Yea, I wrote a guy for having his front windshield tinted and he said he had a script but not on him. He ended up getting the ticket dismissed but if I see him again, I'm going to write him again. The law here doesn't allow you to have the front window tinted under any circumstances. I'm sure he just went to the court and showed his script and had it dismissed. I write them all the time though. If the windshield is done I bang them. Just like Pop. Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!

I know when I checked on this back in '06, the shop quoted me a price of $1200.00 complete and for another $100.00 you could get a remote control unit for it. I'm going to check with them again this week and see what and how they're talking.

Exactly. I don't need anything like that. I mean if I'm in the car, I can work it with the push of a button, I'm not that lazy. They did also offer a rain sensor for it as well for another fee. This would auto close the unit if you left it open and it started to rain. I'm not the type who would knowing or intentionally leave my whip open and unattended for the world to take a liking to and help themselves to my stuff. The basic unit I was told included a interior cover to close it off and this was made from your headliner that they cut out so its an exact match, there is open, close, and a partial open position and express open and close. I think the guy also told me there were two memory positions as well. I thought it was a good price and it carries a warranty for as long as you own the car which is transferrable. Had I had the money it would have been already. I still would like to have it though. Like I've told several people, I don't plan to sell or trade for a mighty long time and what I do to my E is for comfort and convenience when I retire in a few years. It'll be paid for and it'll be my ride to take me back and forth to my barber shop where I'll be cuttin'.
