: Element @ Work/Fun
elementalsurfer 01-10-2008, 12:40 AM Here are few pics of my Element "working". I am a cell phone site field tech so I get to go to all these cool remote areas in my Element. We have been up many "4X4 only sites" with no problems (knock on wood). My boss, who is a trail master for TTORA (Toyota Truck Off Road Assoc.), is impressed with the Element. He frequently says, "I can't believe you made it up to (fill in the blank)!" Geez, even I can't believe my Element and I make it up to some of those sites. We have not been stopped yet! Every trail, path, or road we've attempted we have made it up. Here's to Element power!!

The tires are nothing special. Uniroyal Tiger Paws. They seem to work really great. They are rated for mud and snow, although we don't get much of either here in southern California. They have a bunch of siping and a pretty aggressive tread pattern. Just solid tires that are kinda inexpensive. I get new tires every 12 months. I drive about 40k to 50k a year.
 For those of you who don't know what siping is, they are the little grooves cut into your tire treads.
Wilyumm 01-10-2008, 10:07 AM Sometimes at the landfill I have to go up a very steep grade in deep mud to get to the top. So far the old E has pulled me through. :)
I really LOVE the second picture:lol::lol:
mgill91302 01-10-2008, 05:55 PM Fun at work? Sounds pretty cool! Looks like some great terrain out there, dry and nice weather, I bet there's some nice recreational trails for hiking, biking, etc. there also.
onlookEr 01-10-2008, 07:34 PM This is a cool story with even better pics. Honda should get a hold of this story and use it for marketing or something! How could you not love your Element!
tribalelement 01-10-2008, 07:37 PM The big "E" in Action !!!!!!!

natale_p@comcast.net 01-12-2008, 11:19 PM Hi. I see you use your Element for work use. I have been considering the Element for my appliance repair business. Have a Chevy Astro right now that gets terrible mileage, and would like to be more fuel efficient and nimble. Do you know anyone who uses their Element in such a manner? I wanted to find out if there are any companies who manufacture storage products that would fit an Element, like bins, shelving, etc.
Thanks,
PN
Our HVAC guy uses an E for service visits. He replaced a Chevy Suburban with it and is saving $$ on gas by comparison. Many folks in Atlanta in the service businesses drive over 100 miles a day, a large metro area and lots of traffic.
I keep wondering when we will see the smaller vans and low emission diesels for these people, I don't know how they are affording the gas.
Speedy Toaster Dave 01-13-2008, 06:15 AM great pics from both of of our members thanks though i like the muddy one also..:-D

I have an aquaintance who has an element and uses it for his business. He does service work on commercial kitchen appliances in Vancouver. He told me that some of the guys he works with are switching over to the Element for better gas mileage. Then he showed me how the E all opens up with the clam shell doors and needless to say I was very impressed. (I don't remember seeing bins and such although there were coils of wire). A few months later I bought mine.
