So long as we've got power, you can kinda check out the battle. ;)

Never mind, power just went out. <argh> Running on UPS for a few more minutes. Check back later in the day if you can, maybe it'll be back up.

Looks like you weathered Isabel good. I too went through it. I live in Greenville, NC - about 100 miles from where Isabel came ashore. The eye passed just to the east of me by a few miles. Lucky for me my E was tucked safely in the garage. Winds were not too bad, gusts up to about 65. Had some tree limbs down and minor damage. This was my first hurricane in NC. This area has had 5 since 1995.

Yeah, I'm REALLY not sure what I was thinking by putting up a webcam in the middle of a hurricane. ;) We did keep our power a lot longer than the rest of the area (it went out 12:32PM Thursday), and we got it back before the rest of the area (3PM Saturday).

My E got hit by a lot of debris (shingles/aluminum siding), but doesn't appear to be worse for the wear. It's getting a good bath tomorrow, so we'll see. :D

Still slightly over a MILLION people in VA/Northern NC without power. Our neighborhood is between Naval Air Station Oceana and Dam Neck (Fleet Combat Training Center), so our power usually comes on right after theirs is restored.

I am glad that all of you out there and your E's made it through safely. Congrats on weathering the storm.

I had to drive home through Isabel early Friday am. It was nasty as hell, rain blasting sideways through every opening on the Interstate. The Element did very well, though - it didn't get pushed out of the lane by the right angle wind. Next time I think I will just overnight it at work, though.

Some people around here STILL don't have power, and I was talking to some people at work they said that it'll probably be 3 more weeks before they get it. This storm did some serious damage to power lines and trees. On top of all of that a tornado went through here yesterday morning and put some more people in the dark. Tornados here are rare but they happen once in a while.
