: Griots Products...unbelievable
FoleyProductions, Inc. 01-17-2008, 07:37 AM Shortly after I registered for this site, I stumbled onto someone recommending Griots Garage products for waxing/detailing. Without a doubt, this is some of the best "stuff" I've ever used. It is nice to know in this day and age where we are bombarded by "crap" coming in from China, there are quality made products/companies here in the USA
Twilightzero 01-17-2008, 10:04 AM Interesting, how's it stack up against the Zaino stuff that a lot of poeple here use?
ieatflux 01-17-2008, 12:32 PM turtle wax color shine red. period
no other wax has done a better job.
no meguiars, no ice, no mothers, no zymol, no nushine.
ill give griots a try but i doubt turtles color-oriented wax will be beat.
thunderbird 01-17-2008, 04:28 PM I've ordered several items from Griot's. All performed as advertised or better. Their microfiber wash pads are the best car wash sponge ever. I swear I could wash my whole E with one dip into the bucket. (Remember to rinse your wash pad before going back into your clean wash bucket - keeps the dirt out of the wash water!) The car wash soap is great, just use less than the directions say. Unless you have a couple of cars to wash. The window cleaner is great too. It is worth having them send you a catalog. They sell all kinds of cool car stuff - wash & wax, detail, tools, etc.
prior8t2000 01-17-2008, 11:21 PM Say,
This is what I have been using for the last 8 years, period
I have told folks to use it for a long time now.
Its' all I will use on any paint.
Plus you can use many of there items in home... yes, it's safe to use...
Welcome to the best finish "Griots club"...
Cecil
pipbear333 01-18-2008, 07:25 AM I've always thought Griots was too expensive. I use Autopia for high quality cleaning supplies.

Sparman 01-18-2008, 11:41 PM I'm sold on Griots as well.
It's all I use and I'm amazed every time.
Alaskan_Toaster 01-20-2008, 02:21 AM I had a Griot's catalog for a while meaning to try their products, but never got around to it. I have heard good comments before, but, this helps with the process. It's always great when you can hear positive comments from your "peers" about a product/retailer. :):)
Thanks for the input, will order from them when it thaws out enough up here to finally wax my E.....:razz::razz::razz:
uroxorzmyboxorz 01-26-2008, 10:28 PM I don't need my E to sparkle and shine for a show, but I just need something to keep it clean. Can you use the same washing stuff on the metal as well as the plastic? i don't want the plastica parks to turn dingy grey(they are black). I didn't see any posts on this specific subject so I apologize if I missed it!

Geaux Tigers!
I use the Mr. Clean Auto Dry car wash system (picked up on sale at Target). Works great, the system's soap isn't harsh, won't wash off car wax, and doesn't do a number on the black plastic (3 yrs washing experience on my MINI Cooper's black trim), and the no-spot rinse is excellent. Just use 303 Aerospace protectant on the black parts to keep the looking new. What really damages paint/plastic is bucket-washing with "whatever is handy", i.e. dishwashing soap or laundry detergent - both designed to dissolve oil and grease on dishes/clothes. Totally dries out and ages both the paint and plastic, and instantly removes any protective wax.
liquidskypa 01-27-2008, 11:26 AM So how about some specifics of what Griot's waxing products you guys are using... thanks!
accordn2me 01-27-2008, 01:55 PM I haven't had my E long enough to actually endorse any product. However, I purchased the Vinyl & Rubber Dressing from Griot's. This part of the ad sold me:
"Cleans and protects in one step while leaving behind a non-greasy satin finish, the way rubber and vinyl are supposed to look! Special ultraviolet (UV) blocking agents leave behind a protective coating to help keep your vinyl and rubber parts from cracking, fading and hardening."
Since I had already purchased the Dri-Wash for the painted sections, I wanted something that would both clean and protect all the black parts inside and out. Being rather lazy and never having enough time for everything, I went with the "convenient Pop Up Wipes." I wish I would have purchased the 35 oz. bottle and the two blue sponges - a much better deal, I think. The wipes don't go far enough for the price to suit me. I do love the look it gives and will stick with the product. Next time I will get the bottle and sponges.
I also want to try their car wash for when the E is too dirty to use the Dri-Wash. One thing I love about the Dri-Wash is that when you are finished buffing it off, you use the dirty microfiber cloth to do all the glass. That works like a charm! Got to love those multi-use products.
On a side note....the Griot's Speed Shine sounds a lot like the Dri-Wash. I wish some discriminating soul would do a comparison review of the two. It would also be interesting to see how these two measure up to the Optimum No-Rinse product.
dblair 02-05-2008, 03:24 PM One of the younger guys at work just bought a hot Mustang. The confirmed motor heads have been laying it on pretty thick. I told him he needs to get some wax on that car and that "real" car guys wax their cars nude to keep from scratching anything. He was convinced I was giving him another line untill I brought in the Griot's care manual that says thats the best way to avoid scratches. Ever since then when I suggest I come over and help him wax his car he runs...

I would have said, and or told him the same thing. I mean the "care manual part", before I wax on.:D
