Please reply to the poll and let us know if you are planning to attend the meet this year. I know it's early, but this will help us as we do some planning.

Thanks!

I'm in. I've been waiting for this for a long time and can't wait. Need to do some more mods between now and then. So anyone coming through Indiana wanting to meet up at some point and time in Indy and drive over on I70E? We can make that happen as the date gets closer to meet somewhere, shoot some photos and convoy over. Just a thought. I'm right off of of I70 and the 90mm as well as I465 and the 37mm.

Had a great time at Marysville I and am looking forward to Marysville II. The "sprint" from the hotel to the Honda plant was especially memorable.

Have to attempt to switch some vacation time around cause this sounds better than what I had planned.(spend a few days at Mom's working on the sonny do list and being lazy) Hope I can work it out.

You will be staying at the Official Hotel, you're not going to want to be camping away from everyone. If you're talking about for the drive itself... no need to stay anywhere, the drive should be only 12 or so hours for you. :)

Maybe it would be possible if we could find a decent boarding facility in the area. I just don't like the idea of leaving the 'boys' in the motel room... I can just see the cleaning people opening up the door and walking in on those two....

LMAO...great mental pic, the two dogs on the bed :D

That would be great if we could find a boarding place that could take the collective EOC dogs while we're out at stuff! Anybody in the area who can start calling around? That would be awesome if I could bring the pupper!

Just booked my room at the EOC official hotel, the Embassy Suites Dublin, Ohio. I'm all set and can't wait for this E-Vent to go down. Someone said on another thread that a hotel rep said the hotel was booked for this time frame but it was announced this was our hotel. Also it was mentioned that only king beds were available but they could put you on a list for doubles. I went ahead and took the king with a sofa sleeper in the living room for the daughter. She be all good!

Nope... I only get 30 vacation days per year, and I prefer to spend them visiting family back home, or doing stuff with my kids. Move it to Disneyland, and I'll think about it!

If I was single, looking for a good excuse for a road trip, then, sure, why not?

Dayum, only30 vacation days? Where do I sign up??

Well, after the hotel said NO DOGS.............We will NOT be attending this years meet (same reason we didn't attend St Louis)
It is one thing for me to put my dogs in "day care" for an activity or two (plant tour) but I am not going to drive 10 or so hours and then kennel my dogs. Sorry Gisele, tummy rubs will have to wait
HOWEVER.........any E-PLE that are passing thru Kansas City we are more than willing to meet-up with them

I will miss meeting some of my favorite E-PLE

I did a Google search for "pet friendly hotels in Dublin, OH" and several came up, right there near the Official Hotel so you wouldn't be far from anyone. Most of them looked pretty nice as well and they offered much of the same things as the Embassey. Six one way and half a dozen another. Don't let the a certain hotel prevent you from coming if you want to come and bring the pets. I'm leaving out two yorkies home just because of the attention they'll need and I want to be in the mix on all events.

I'm trying to leave my adult supervision home too. I know it would make for a better time. All I'd here for 24 to48 hrs is "My feet hurt, I'm ready to go get something to eat, I don't get it, why are you all so in to this car. It's just a car. And the number one statement: I think all you Element people are strange! Yea, I need to be Hans Solo for the trip!

Would that be Savannah, GA? Man! That's the spot. If you go, make sure you check out the shops on River street, also there is a bar on Bay Street across from the court house called the Moon River Tavern. It was featured on the SciFi channel, the show called Taps. All I can say is, there is something up with this place. Go in the room where the pool table is and see what happens. Also for good eating, check out Lady and Son's on Congress and there is always Kickin' Chicken.

Peace and hope you guys and maybe your whole crew can make the International meet.

We love Savannah and Tybee Island - well, the whole area, actually. It's the perfect place to be - especially in the winter/spring months. This will make our 4th trip down. It's really our "destination of choice" when we need to immerse ourselves in "THE SOUTH" and "SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY."

River Street is really cool, but it's just the whole atmosphere there. I'm not a "BORN" beach type (could have something to do with being afraid of being thought to have beached myself???) - but we just love the marshes and how genuinely friendly everyone is.

Regarding the National....well, it looks again like we're not going to be able to make it because of the date and the fact we'll be going to Grandfather Mountain in another week after that, and Denny can't get the time off. Oh well...it was a thought...bummer!

Yea, I'm giving serious consideration to moving to Savannah after I retire in 3yrs. I've been looking at an area called Pooler. I spent Thanksgiving on Tybee Island 3yrs ago and really enjoyed that. Stayed at the DeSoto Inn and I've stayed at the Historic Mulberry on east end of Bay street. Love driving up and down Albercourn with the Spanish moss hanging from the trees. Beauford, SC not far away by going over the bridge and even Hilton Head and charleston. I have fam in Daytona Beach, FL and the ATL so Savannah is just about half way between the two making either about a 3hr drive. We love the low country cooking, Lady and Son's, the hospitality and charm and never really below *40 in the winter months and in the summer, in the summer if you like heat, its hot! I've seen the devil standing on the corner with an umbrella trying to stay out of the heat. Its a great place!

I hadn't heard of Savnannah, GA until I saw the movie Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil. We went to visit it after that and have been back every year since. Don't know if you've ever seen the movie but check it out. A lot of the charactors portrayed actually live or lived in Savannah. Manerva (sp) is still there and seen on occasion. She's like the local priestess;-) and the Lady moved to Atlanta. Anyway, if you've seen the movie you know who I'm talking about but the place is awesome!

So, I'm completely bored here at work and decided to waste some time. My unofficial and definitely unscientific count shows a total of 65 actual Elements and a minimum of 78 total people, based on a few members coming without their E's and friends or significant others coming with a member. I'm sure there are more than 78 based on my list, but I don't know everyone that is bringing someone else.

I think so Box-E. Some people like myself jumped in full frontal as soon as it was announced as to be in the team hotel and have plans already made to be there. Others, some 47 to be exact, want to come but apparently are working out some logistics in order to be there. I'm thinking and hoping half of those maybe's will commit to coming and I'm thinking that number as a minimum. I truly expect there to be at least 100 Elements there and I believe the Ridgelines have at least 30 coming as well. That puts us at 80 for the two groups alone.
Big Deal? I think so.

I know we got a serious jump on people who committed to make the show, and you'd have to think that those who said no, know or knew for sure they wouldn't make it but those on the fence, where do you stand on it? I mean are you like greater than 50% you'll probably make it or less than 50% that you probably won't make it.

What's it going to take to get you there? Boss's approval on time off, girlfriend or wife, signifiCAN't other, what?

I'm hoping that those of you in th MAYBE category come on over to be committed to making the event.

Peace!

Actually, the way I worded my last post was a gag, intended for Larry (spdrcr5) since, until now, he's the only one on this site who knew that my Service Manager is female, and my wife.

You poor, poor man... If that were me, I wouldn't be
A) Sane
B) Married
C) Alive
D) All of the above

That is correct. My sister works for the Hilton Group as well and Hilton owns Embassy Suites along with quite a few other hotel chains.

Hey Tim,

Lets try and get some more unCAN-E's to join us. It would be great to have a larger Canadian group of Elements this year. This will be a fun time for sure.

I think I feel an official Canadian Element decal is in order. I'll get my design juices flowing!!

Wow! Sixtythree people have committed to this event and if those are the same amount of Element coming, plus or minus those who are just too far to drive but are coming regardless, this will be a glorious sight to behold!

I encourage those of you who have looked on this thread and have not made a determination one way or the other, to please do so. If you're waiting on more info or a specific time frame to make the commit to this gathering, let us know that as well. Give us a idea on when you may have a firm date on having a decision. We want this to be the biggest, baddest Element gathering we've ever had. In fact, we want this to be the biggest car event for clubs in North America. It's time we show the Corvettes, Mini's, Vipers, VW's and some of the other car enthusiest what it's all about and what they're going to have to do to top this event and the record number we plan to have. So come on people, get on board and make it happen. You don't have to stay at the official hotel if cost is a factor. You can stay where you like but know that the official hotel will be where people we be meeting and some events will take place. Sort of the rallying or muster point. This going to be an event that will be talked about for the rest of the year, until the next big event for 2009 and you're going to continue to kick yourself in the butt for having an opportunity of making this when you could have, should have, but didn't.
It's time to show some love for the EOC and for our site owner, moderators and for each other, to come out and participate.

Lets make it happen and lets take over Dublin, Marysville and Columbus, Ohio. This is going to be like ET go home with all of these Elements traveling on various highways and bi-ways, making it back to the place where they were created. I know the Rep's from Honda are going to flip when they see all the Honda vehicles coming home to roost.

All this being said, lets be there and be square.

Peace!

Chozn,

I've got a big event of my own coming up in less than 2 months now. I'm getting married in March. So here are the factors keeping me from committing.

1) It's roughly 955 miles one way, that's a lot of gas to get there
2) Fiance might teach summer school which would be in session at that time
3) I'd like to see an iternery before I commit, event if it's just a list of the big things that will happen
4) I'll need to ask for the time off work eventually, so I need number 3 before that deadline, which for this event would probably be early April. This may be complicated by the time I'm taking for the honey moon.
5) I need to be able to roughly estimate the total cost for the trip to make sure we can afford it. Here's what I have so far:
a. Gas - (955 * 2)/300 = 6.3 + 1 = 7.3 so I need at least 8 tanks of gas to cover caravaning once I'm there. 8*$40 = $320
b. Hotel - As you can see gas will be expensive so, I will probably opt for a less exspensive hotel.
c. Food - This will be determined by the iternery.
d. Registration - I understand this should be under $100 based on previous years.

So, as a maybe, I'm leaning towards a yes if I can work out the above factors.

First of all breese524, let me start off by saying congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! Getting married can be a beautiful thing and stressful as well. I'm sure it will be a joyous occasion.

I can most certainly understand you wanting to get a more detailed list of the events that will take place for the International Event before you commit. I too make that drive from Indy to Orlando every year as we had a unit at Polynesian Isle resort up until this past October when we sold it. That being said, the economics of it all does take a bearing on what we do. As I'm not a moderator or staff for the EOC or the site, I can say that I have had some contact off board wit T MAC and JuliE and they are working as hard as they can, to bring forth the best possible product for all it's members and not just a select few. I will say if you hold on for a few more weeks, T MAC and spdrcr will post more details on what is going to happen for the group. The registration fee will more than likely be somewhere around $30 as I heard this is what is was last year from Dancetiludrop. I can't imagine it being too far from what it has been in the past.

Like I said, bear with them, give 'em a little more time and I'm sure they're going to give you information that will make you say, "Hey, I've got to be there for that".

I anticipate more info within the next few weeks.
Thanks for the response and good luck!

Right now if you take those who are coming and those who are listed as a maybe, we'd have 119 Elements or members coming to the E-Vent. That's a lot of cars and people. The line from the hotels to where ever we're going once we get there is going to be awesome. I plan and hope to video the entire event. Those three days in Marysville/Cloumbus should turn the town into E'ville.

Big! Real big! I'm starting to wonder what the economic impact is going to be on the local economy. I mean with over 100 Honda vehicle's in the Dublin/ Marysville, Columbus area for 2 to 4 days, you can probably put at least two people with each vehicle, let the media kick in with their special interest stories to local TV stations and man, this thing could blow up where cities actually bid to get us to come there for out meets. I mean it's really a shot in the arm of the local economy. Some Po-Dunk mayor will start calling T Mac up and telling him his city will give us the Key, we have the free run of everything if we just come. I wish we could have it in Indy one year. I think it would be a great venue.

My wife and I plan to be there from Utah. Her parents live just over the bridge from the listed Embassy Suites hotel in Dublin! If memory serves, it is about 1,900 miles from our location here in Utah to Dublin, Ohio.

As the Element Owners Club, we have the power to possibly get a tour of the Marysville assembly plant. I have made attempts in the past to get in for a tour in the past unsuccessfully, but have been informed that organized group tours are possible.

EOC should see if this can be done! I have stood outside the Marysville plant, but never been inside.

There are lots of picture threads found here (http://www.elementownersclub.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=52) - the party at the plant looked *awesome* and was part of my reasoning for making sure to get to the meet this year.

Thanks for the links, but I am quickly finding out there is not much for the Rocky Mountain region! May need to stir something up here. My best friend locally has an E also, we need to push this. I am happy to hear you will also go Junebug! You are driving from the Northwest and giving up the flight right;-) If you'd change your mind on the driving vs. flying, I'd expect you would take I80 or I90?

Rocky Mountains you say? Check my sig for the big jamboree in August. Then I'll have my car.

And yes, if I were driving I'd take I-90 for a good long ways. But no! I'm-a flyin'.

You could take I-90 all the way to Chicago, which is damn near the whole way from where you're driving. Let me know if you're coming through, we have a convoy from MN shaping up :D

I just requested the days off. After reading the threads in this section, I'm wondering what I've gotten myself into.

And for those of you keeping a tally, I did vote "Yes" in the poll.

Anyone heard if there is any progress on a tour of the East Liberty plant during the "E"vent? Does Honda assemble Elements in June?

I hope to be announcing an official agenda in early March. I also hope to open up registration at that time. Stay tuned.

Can someone say these "E"ople are chomping at the bit for info? Seventyseven "E"ople have signed up and are committed to being there. How Elements I wonder? This going to be BIG, HUGE!

I can't wait. T MAC, are you saying there's going to be an online registration so those who do so can go to the "E"xpressline and pick up their gift bag, T-shirt, laynard etc? Looking at what we have going on it might help the flow if you did. Two separate places within the same venue to handle the massEs.
BTW, brother gonna need a 2XX to make it last a while.

And as always, Peace!

:DChozn... just know you are a Rib guy like me! Hope we can get together and find some good ones in the area, or the ones we will be tail gaiting with while there!

You are right about some or everyone chomping at the bits to be June already, but we can wait.:-(

I can work with some ribs. Not big on Montgomery Inn ribs. They used to be here in Indy and didn't survive, so that within itself says a lot. I'm sure we can find something close by though. I heard the Winking Lizzard has good food and ribs too if I'm not mistaken.

Will we crack 100 by March 1st? I know several where saying they're waiting on the agenda to be posted and T MAC has said he plans to do that around the first of March. I hope that those that are sitting on the fence will make the decision to join the majority. We can make this the biggest, baddest and greatest E-Vent since the EOC started.

"Yes, We Can"
