Depending on the time frame, and if we take the dogs, that could be a nice return trip.

We could head back home down I-75/I-40/I-26.

For now, I'm a most likely maybe. ;-)

I thought they landed in 1947? Maybe it took that long for the sound of the explosion to be heard that far away.

You guys and gals will love this place, it is the largest collection outside of the Smithsonian. We took all our out of town guest there when we lived in Cincinnati

Hey, you can't be that old - you know you are REALLY old when they don't let you match the number of candles with your age because of the fire hazard!

Maybe when you guys are at the museum, they'll have something good playing in the IMAX theatre there!!!

I'm not up for another visit to the museum, cause I've been there like a dozen times over the last few years (I used to work for an aerospace company in the greater Dayton area), but you'll enjoy it!

The museum is open 9-5 seven days, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day (more (http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/visit/)).

The XB-70 is in the Research & Development/Flight Test Gallery (http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/exhibits/r&d/index.asp), which is accessible by shuttle only and requires a government-issued photo ID. On weekdays, the shuttle leaves the museum on the hour from 10 to 4; on weekends, it leaves at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. (More (http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/questions/topic.asp?id=180))

The museum would be an excellent choice. It is free with lots and lots and lots of free parking. It is Ohio's largest "free" attraction. On another note the "Ghost Hunters" TV production crew was recently here at Wright Pat. They will be airing that show in March if anyone is interested in the Ghost Hunters show. They filmed at the famous hanger 18 located at WPAFB. The larger presidential aircraft is housed in a different area. You have to be shuttled there from the main museum. You have to sign up and it fills up quick so you may or may not be able to see that part. It is a restricted area so that is why you have to be escorted by shuttle.

 WHAT? T.A.P.S. on location WPAFB. I watch T.A.P.S every Wednesday. Find it very interesting on some of the spots they've been to. Especially the tavern in Savannah, GA which I happened to visit prior to their going and I too felt very weird and strange as soon as we entered the spot. To the point I told the Mrs. lets have a quick drink since it was so hot outside and lets get out of the place and head for River St. The other place interesting is the light house in Saint Augustine, FL. Anyway, I'll be on it to see what they encountered.

Peace!

My drive to this on Wednesday: 11 hrs, 673 miles

I may have to be at a conference on the 24th. I'm not giving up on the Wright-Patterson tour, but depending how the logistics work out I may have to return to base on Sunday vice Monday.

I was watching T.A.P.S. Ghost Hunters on the SciFi channel last night and it was a re-run but they were called to do an investigation at Wright-Patterson and I was floored on some of the things that occured. I guess there is house there that was there before the military bought the land and during the investigation Jason put a flashlight on the floor and asked the spirit if you will for lack of a better word to turn the flashlight on and the light came on, a couple of times. I need to read up on this but I'm interested in checking this place out. Here's a link I pulled on the spirits at the base http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/692233/the_ghosts_of_the_wright_patterson.html

What is the drive time from WPAFB from the meet location and who all is going on the tour there? I surely hope I can make the meet. I have some stuff going on in my life right now and though I'm registered and paid, I've gone from 100% there to a 90/10. Just hope the odds don't swing any further to the negative side.

Peace!

Chozen, the National Museum is an hour or less away from the meet. It is really easy to reach and if people are going on Sunday my husband and I will join.

I hope everything works out fine for you, Chozen, and hopefully you will be able to come to the meet. After all of the posts encouraging people to come I would hate not to see you around!

Have a great day!

Thanks Jea! Life seems to always throw me a curve ball from time to time and it always seems to come around or near the National meet time. I'm hoping this situation will be resolved before June. Only time and the Lord knows for sure. If the situation is still jacked up, I may drive over early on Saturday just so I can see what's going on, meet some of my Eople and come on back. I don't know but I'm hoping it all works out so I can be there for everything. It would be messed up to have done all that cheerleading and not make it all.

Thanks and as always, peace and blessings!
