I have seen the camper that is on the roof - but how about this one? This looks like a tree house!

Well, the tent-like cover shown on the Element has been around for awhile and shown in various threads here, but the cabinetry part looks like the seller's invention and on-going product.
Can't quite figure out from the eBay listing what you get for your $1,300 or so. All the "mods" seem to include the tent device that might go on top. Some of the stuff looks like he is putting it all together from different sources.
The slide out kitchen is kind of cool, but might be a better idea to get the
Spotz tent that has the pass-through into the element. The little sleeve showing there now wouldn't do much good unless you built a platform way up high (inside) that could then be slept on.
Looks like a work in progress unless I'm just not seeing the whole picture.
Edit: maybe the blue bag under the faucet area is the rest of a Sportz tent.
Edit 2: When this eBay item finishes, later thread followers can look at his camper here:

Interesting though.

I build custom Camping Vehicles based on your needs and vehicle.
An Element has always intrigued me for an SUV.
This is a lean and mean package. No cumbersome bulky, dirty bottom dome tent, enough coverage for good ventilation and protection.
The Element camper 1 is a slide out (locks in open or closed position( pod that carries a cooler (idiot proof fridge), 12v camp light, 12v outlet, fresh water system, sink with Grey water. shower, portable Stove, Mattress. The only thing I think it is missing is a Box awning.
This design requires no modification to the vehicle and attaches to the factory tie downs.
I will design any RV system you need. solar, fridge, stoves, roof tents, heaters, awnings. If I have space I will figure something out.
Ride on!

Right, the tailgate tent on that site appears to a 'camper top tent'. I have the 'midsize' one intended for compact pickups with shell. This looks like it may be the 'van' version - it is taller and not quite as wide as the pickup one. The fit looks pretty good. Campmore may still be selling these enclosures. Cost is about $100.
