We have a 140-lb German shepherd, who was one of the reasons we bought this car. He fits in the back, behind the seats fine. But we like to have him closer when possible. However, he has to be in the middle of things, and would creep up between the front seats. We solved whis by buying a hammock-style cargo net (Pep Boys, $16.99) and some velcro straps to string the net behind the front seats. Now he stays put (thanks to the German shepherd's fear of stuff like nets, brooms, gates etc.) Velcro straps attached to door posts. So far they don't interfere.

Can you send a pic? I have a few of my own little furry distractors.

Until I figure out how to post a photo here, here's the link to a photo of the beast guarding our music equipment, the second reason we bought this car. Will take and post a photo of the netting Saturday and post ASAP.

Something about a girl, a violin and a skirt that just gets to me!

Great idea...we just put a baby gate behind the driver/ passenger seats and wrapped a bungee cord around the passenger seat to keep it from falling and it prevents my lab from coming up front....BTW what type music does your group play?..looks like a nice bunch...
