The rear sunroof is nice, and while most of us unfortunately spend more time driving the car than laying in the back gazing at stars, the option (or standard EX feature) of a sunroof in front is a MUST! The only times I regret buying the Element is when I drive my wife's SUV w/ a sunroof over my head.
The scuttlebutt is that the front roof was omitted due to structural concerns. Not an engineer myself, it seems that you could create an extremely rigid surround that could be pressed into the roof that would alleviate this problem. Others would know better than I.
And what of those folks who have an aftermarket sunroof installed? There's no mention in my owner's manual of risk involved in having one installed and yet no one seems to be able to come up with a better explanation of why one was not available in the first place.
My baseball gear, my groceries, and even my dog have a better ride than I...

If the E didn't have suicide doors, we would of have the front sunroof with no questions asked.
If Honda ever changed the design.... our E's would look like the Ford Escape or the Saturn Vue :D

The rear sunroof is not STANDARD on the EX. Only on EX AWD models. It's the main reason I bought a 2wd model. What a silly concept. Other than that I love my E. :D

We really should have a front sunroof. I would much rather enjoy the sun than have my groceries or other cargo exposed!

We traded a Saturn Ion redlineQuad coupe on our E. It had the same kind of door configuration only in a car and it was equipped with power sunroof. I guess Gm was ready to give up a 5 star rating for a 4 star. Also the possiblilty of two sunroofs causing structural limitations for a 4 wheel drive without the benifiet of a full frame. I'm sure Honda knows better then we do.
Just my 2 cents.... This is my Honda product since my Honda Trail 50 cir 1971..... yes I'm that old:D
Please NO H.R.C. in 2008

The sunroof for me was just an added bonus. It'll be nice to pop out in the summertime for some air circulation. It's better then no sunroof at all.

theres actually a company down the street that puts custom sunroofs in and I been talking to my dealer and them to see if it would be possible to keep the structural integrity of the car if they put on in the front and if it would void any warenty....ill let ya know once their man gets back to me on it

Read the fine print though...it may also include a roadside explosive device! :-o
