I found it quite irritating that the key had to be on for the rear 12 volt outlet to be used. Here is a simple way to fix this that requires no new wiring. Just a simple jumper. Go to the following thread for pictures and instructions. Let me know if you have questions or comments. Should take less than an hour, not counting the trip to the hardware store.

you can also t tap a line off of that jumper and run a line up to your front outlet as well. That circuit is 15 amp fused so it shouldn't be an issue.

I did not look at the front outlet since the key is close by, but I'm not sure there is a relay for it. Would require checking to make sure.

I couldn't find the relay either...just bypassed it instead.

Hmm, just reminded me that I've got one of those tone generatorsused for tracing phone/network lines. Might be useful to trace the line (note: remove fuse to outlet FIRST <grin>).
