: Galaxy Grey Metallic or Royal Blue Pearl?
I am in the market for an SC. I am going to be moving back to new england soon. I like both colors. The grey I like because it wont show scratches really easily and be very easy to keep clean. I like the blue better then the grey but I am afraid that it will show scratches etc very easily. I have never owned a dark colored car, only silver cars. So while I have owned silver cars, the grey offered will be a little different but overall very similar. So I really want to get a different color but I am afraid that I will be obssesed with keeping it clean and it will show scratches very easily. Not to mention in the winter the blue will look alot dirtier then the grey.
Anyone?
Thanks
GET THE BLUE ONE!!!!
:D:D:D
Elemike 02-28-2008, 09:55 PM Get the Royal Blue Pearl!!! You won't regret it and you sound like that's the one you really want. I felt the same way you do until I bought my first black car......it's alot easier to take care of than you think and it looks GREAT when it's clean like I'm sure you'll keep that new E! Good luck and enjoy
tribalelement 02-28-2008, 10:17 PM get the (NBP)
analogy134 02-28-2008, 10:30 PM Guess which one I voted for?
Maximo Park 02-28-2008, 10:36 PM Go with the blue because the grey is too similar to silver and it sounds like you don't want to repeat yourself.
Even when it's dirty, the blue's dark shade still shows contrast and makes it look shiny even when it's dirty.
Alaskan_Toaster 02-28-2008, 10:50 PM Well, since TRP was not in your color palate (but still a GREAT choice), I agree with most on the blue. IMHO, gray blends in too much, especially when all the road grime kicks up and ALL the cars are gray-ish (we have that problem every year up here). You always know that there's bEautiful blue underneath that grime waiting to get out.....:rolleyes::smile::lol::lol:
Speedy Toaster Dave 02-29-2008, 06:09 AM get the Blue one stay away from Kiwi,it breed's krazy folks...:D:evil:
chozn4service 02-29-2008, 07:45 AM I've seen both colors in person and the GG is a smokin' color! I really like it and had it been available when I got my Tango Red Pearl, I would have jumped all over it. The Royal Blue is new and to be truthful, I've yet to see one on the streets. I've seen only a few at the dealerships but none on the road. Of course that's here in Indy. If you have a problem trying to keep a car clean, I would opt for the GG. It's color and hues under light will make it look clean under most circumstances, yet it reflects light and always looks striking when you see it. The Royal Blue is a great color as well but it will show dirt/dust, so if you don't have the fortitude to keep a car clean or if you don't like washing and waxing like some of us, the GG would be your best shot. Not silver but still in that color spectrum yet different to meet your urge to step out. I sort of know what you're going through. I've always been an earth tone type of guy and it was a leap for me to jump on the Tango Red but I'm glad I did. I'm also a stickler for keeping cars clean no matter the color. All this being said, test drive both colors and see how you feel behind the wheel. I always seem to find a building like down town or somewhere that has a lot of glass where I can look over as I drive by and see myself driving by and see how it works or looks going by. The one that says "That's it" is the one I'd go with. All this being said, if I just have to cast a vote between the two, I vote for Obama! I mean I vote for GG. I still like the way it looks up close and in person over the blue. Just my .02 cents.
Peace!
prooney343 02-29-2008, 08:02 AM Go Blue, you can tell thats the one you really want............ Plus as mentioned already, you dont see too many on the road so you will be different.
Enjoy what ever you color you decide................
Tim Vance 02-29-2008, 01:03 PM I'm kinda partial to the blue myself....:D
5th_Element 02-29-2008, 01:07 PM I have never liked the Galaxy Grey ones, as the wife likes to say "what, you can't afford paint". but I'm not to crazy about the Dark "Royal Blue" one eather...but that's just me.
Get the one you like best!
I know whats going to happen is that none of my dealers will have a royal blue color so I wont be able to see it in person.
Im not really into washing my car that much. Although I can go to the carwash. Having a dark colored car is just uncharted territory; im not sure if I have a lifestyle of getting my car scratched up but I just cant see it because my current car is silver. I wouldnt be suprised if you changed my car right now to a dark color that there would be scratched all over it.
I am also concerned about snow/ice and if it will make scratches easily.
While I would love a dark blue color, I just dont want to have to worry about scratches etc. I think I am leaning towards the grey...........
Pfamily00 02-29-2008, 02:04 PM If you've ever seen the Galaxy Gray in the sun, you'd have no problem with this decision. The only time it really looks gray is when it's dark - otherwise they could take "gray" right out of the name and call it "Galaxy Starburst". It's the sweeeeetest color out there - downright dazzling.

Now I think the Alabaster Silver Metallic color should fit the bill, now thats a sharp color and should hide the dirt and scratched too.
But I have to say for the record that Kiwi is the cleanest, most scratch resistant color there is. :D
On my way home I realized that I was passing a honda dealership. I looked at the lot and there was a silver sc right up front, with all the doors open, so I had to stop. I was looking at it for about ten minutes. I was extremely suprised that it was a manual, I guess those are rare.
These are my thoughts: I was extremely impressed with the overall vehicle. The build quality was great, the piano black trim and silver tribal stitching looked good, and I really liked the rims and front end. This is definetely the car for me. When I am ready to purchase(not yet), I will make silver a consideration if I would have to order a manual grey/blue sc. I was extremely surprised that it was a manual, I have only seen a few online. I tried the clutched and even though the shifter is at an unusual angle, it was not awkward to use.
Anyone else?
tribalelement 03-01-2008, 01:14 AM Try the (NBP) I say:D
Farther 03-01-2008, 01:06 PM Get the grey. Quite a few years ago I have a black CRX Si. What a beautiful car when it was clean, which was never. Minutes after cleaning it, it was dirty.
valeriE 03-01-2008, 01:42 PM Go grey, it's super sexy.
I'm thinking about it for my next one...
givememytoys 03-01-2008, 03:00 PM As ive stated many tmes before asm is self cleaning:D:D
Jet109 03-01-2008, 05:08 PM The blue is my favorite, hehe!!!! But, then again, I am partial:-D:-D:-D:-D
cerby25 03-01-2008, 05:17 PM Get the Blue.
It is what I would of got if they made it in the EX.
The Gray gets dirty too, and that blue is an awesome color.
pegasus 03-01-2008, 05:35 PM I love the blue, especially in the sun! Not a big deal to keep clean and I have had not problem with scrathes
Can you guys start posting pics of the grey and blue colors?
Thanks!
Do all the windows already come tinted on the sc? The rear windows appear at least to already come tinted.
Thanks
Lets bring on the pics!
wowaddict 03-01-2008, 09:08 PM The front ones are not tinted. All the others yes.
Where is the Root Beer in the color choices :(
I really dislike the root beer color. Not only that, you get the orange tribal stitching, which I hate with a passion. Its funny, I originally thought that the orange stitching was on all colors and took the element out of consideration for a few weeks and then saw one with silver stitching so I joined the forums.
So where are those pics? :)
givememytoys 03-01-2008, 09:15 PM Alabaster silver

siclmn 03-01-2008, 09:16 PM This whole thread is worthless without pictures but get the gray. You will get tired of the blue and even more tired of washing it. The gray will still look good after weeks of not washing it, and you will be able to wait even longer till it really gets dirty.

I absolutely agree with "Siclmn". Galaxy Grey is definitely a more practical choice and looks great! It's a lot easier to keep clean compared to Royal Blue.

RElementW 03-02-2008, 07:53 PM I am partial to the blue ones, since I have an atomic blue EX. But I will add this: the blue ones are much more scarce than silver or grey, so you will stick out more in town. If that's what you want, blue. If you prefer anonymity, go grey.
Either way, congrats on your Elemente!
While the blue one will stand out more then the grey, I have yet to ever see an element sc on the streets so either color is rare to me:).
So where are those pics?
BlueIce 03-03-2008, 06:59 PM Definetly the BLUE!!
Sammy 03-03-2008, 07:46 PM I looked at both the blue and grey before I bought mine and i chose the grey. I am very happy with the color. Like others have said, it doesn't show the dirt too badly. And yeah, it's sexy!
It is really all about you and what you want to see in your driveway. Either way, you'll love the E.
sleepyvtek9 03-03-2008, 11:04 PM i say go with the blue.. i was gonna get the blue one but didnt wanna wait another week.. i seen a blue one the other day and im jealous.. i shoulda waited for it  if i had enough money, id trade mines in for a blue one.
This is what I will say about the two colors. I like the blue better ten the grey but I am afraid the blue will look dirty all the time and shows scratches very easily.
MCAJE 03-14-2008, 12:35 AM I went to the dealership with full intentions of getting the blue one...and then I saw the platinum interior scheme on the Galaxy Grey and changed my mind.
spoonido 04-07-2008, 01:38 PM That there blue would look mighty perty next to my luscious KIWI!:D
Speedy Toaster Dave 04-07-2008, 03:35 PM blue go blue:D
Jet109 04-07-2008, 09:07 PM You wanted a picture? Here's a blue one...my baby :)
Local_Barista 04-07-2008, 10:21 PM Here are a few pictures of my beauty the day after I brought her home!
TonyS 04-08-2008, 12:23 PM Funny - we liked BOTH! the blue is really nice (my favorite)- the GGM looks a bit more 'metal flake' - also, it looks like it changes color! Sometimes brownish... interesting. I chose the GGM because it's not just grey, it's like a 'dark silver' ?? ps. the dog had no comment.
Crimson Bob 04-16-2008, 11:40 PM Just bought a GG SC . . . when I saw it in full sunlight, I couldn't resist. Pictures can't do justice.
beanz8spun 04-16-2008, 11:42 PM i wanted a blue one but i got it the first year of the SC and they didnt have it, and i wasnt going to get the black because of the trim kit inside so i have to stay true to my SC and say the galaxy gray, or else she will get mad at me and something will break
GlxyGry06Si 10-15-2008, 03:02 PM tough decision for me because my si si ggm and my element is royal blue. i like the rb for the element a little better tho so it got my vote.
SlipMahoney 10-15-2008, 05:53 PM We had a choice of white or Atomic Blue. When the salesman asked which we'd like, my wife and I both said blue at the same time. She thinks it just looks good, which it does, but it also reminds me of my metallic blue '64 Impala SS.

I'll admit our Blue Angel does need washing now, but she still looks good, even with the dirt on her.
ELEMENTRIC 10-15-2008, 11:06 PM We had a choice of white or Atomic Blue.
Um... can you please explain how you had a choice of a WHITE Element?
Was it something the dealer had custom painted? Or an older model someone had painted and traded in?
They've never made an Element that came in WHITE as a factory color choice...
:-?

It was probably Alabaster.

I stand, better make that sit, corrected. I checked with my wife and she said it was a silver color. It did have that white protective covering over the hood, so maybe that's how I got confused about the color. Old age does that from what I hear. She also told me she went with the blue because both our daughters have cars with a metallic color and she wanted ours to stand out. No worries there, that's for sure.

Thanks for clearing that up...you had me worried that Honda did a really secret limited edition color!
:D
I figured that it had to be the ASM. I've seen several of them that look white when they are in really bright sunlight.
