Alaskan_Toaster 03-06-2008, 12:21 AM 1st Annual SEWARD & Sea Life Center RUN (April)
So, what Saturday in April should we plan this for? . . .
HMMM, are there any three or four day weekend/holidays in April??
Anytime is OK with me (but, then again, I'm retired with no current J-O-B, so that might change by then....:) )
Alaskan_Toaster 03-10-2008, 10:33 PM Anyone, anyone??!! Bueller?? Bueller??
No date ideas, yet? How about the weekend of the 18-20th??
Camping, beaching it, or hard roofing it? Being military, I can reserve a spot at the Army rec camp, so, if that's what everybody is leaning towards, LMK.
Course, once we decide on a date, I am changing my tagging card to invite ALL E owners to joins us........ :D:D:D
EOC4ME 03-12-2008, 10:37 PM OK!
Let's plan the SEWARD day trip for Saturday, April 19th!
If you'd like to make a weekend out of it, please POST or PM Alaskan Toaster!
Our plan for Saturday: Honda Run, Sea Life Center, Lunch and a little shopping / site seeing.
Here's a link: http://www.alaskasealife.org/
Please post if you'd like to make this run!
EOC4ME out and about . . .
Alaskan_Toaster 03-19-2008, 02:08 AM Sounds good to me!! I might make it an overnighter, mainly because it's a drive out here to the valley. Anyone is welcome to join us. :-)
Going to add the date to the tagging card so I can drum up more interest..... :rolleyes:8-)8-)
Maybe we can get this in to double digits .....:lol:
ChickWhoRips 03-24-2008, 12:04 PM OK I'm a little late to the party, but when are you planning on heading down and where is the meet up place to go down?
I have a "girl's night" the night before, I may be slow going the next day.
And bib pick up day for the Heart Run..... I knew that day sounded familiar.
EOC4ME 03-25-2008, 10:31 PM Thanks for posting! :-)
Plan to leave Anchorage the 19th, early AM. I hoping for 8AM or earlier . . .
As of today, we have not set up a meeting place yet. I'm open on this subject. If anyone would like to meet for breakfast before starting our adventure, I'm open to that too! Please feel free to bring the kids, spouse, dog, friends, etc. The more the merrier!
If anyone wants to meet up for BREAKFAST, please post your ideas!!! Village Inn or Denny's is fine. But, if you've another HOT SPOT, PLEASE SHARE!!!
Hope to hear from everyone soon,
Glenn in Anchorage
PS: another option on the way down or back up is to visit EXIT GLACIER, near Seward
PPS: other ideas are WELCOME !!! 8)

Alaskan_Toaster 03-25-2008, 10:59 PM As long as we don't go to I Hate Old Pancakes (AKA: IHOP), not a good experience there.
Denny's would be fine, but, I was thinking of leaving Anchorage no later than 8 AM, wanted to get an early start on the 2 hour trek down south. Maybe meeting at 7 AM? Of course, if a hangover is a problem......:lol::lol::lol:
ChickWhoRips 03-26-2008, 10:11 AM I shouldn't be hungover. The earlier is better for me too. Hoping to get back to town early enough to pick up my bib for the race (it closes at 5, I may be able to be convinced to stay a bit later and pick it up on race day, but I hate fighting the crowd for it).
For breakfast there is always Judy's (not sure what time they open) and I think that Hillside Family Restaurant opens earlier.
Also, my pups will be coming with us. They love a good road trip.

Never heard of Judy's. There's also a restaurant that opens early and I ALWAYS see cars there, I think it called the Lucky Wishbone (?). It's on fifth just as you get into downtown, right side, right after the 5th/6th Ave separation and the first light.
Glad that your furballs will be joining us, wish I had one to bring myself  but, we'll have one again soon..... Now I can finally meet yours......:grin:
ChickWhoRips 03-26-2008, 12:09 PM Never heard of Judy's.
GASP! What?! You poor poor thing. I guess we'll be dragging you down there one of these days.
It is on Old Seward just south of O'Mally. Bestest Breakfast ever!
The two I mentioned are on the way out, south out of town.

Yeah, I know, I lead such a deprived life here......:-o:rolleyes::lol:
South of town is good, since we're going that way...... :-P:-P
EOC4ME 03-26-2008, 10:35 PM Hello all :D
How does breakfast at 7AM sound?
I vote for Harley's : http://harleysotcafe.com/Home_Page.html
Then off to Seward at 8AM . . . Also may visit Exit Glacier . . .
Let's decide this by this Sunday, so I can post the info on both the ROC & CRVOC sites. I also want to add this to my cards, so I can tag as many Honda's as possible!!!
Please PM or post your thoughts.
Thanks for your input,
Glenn in Anchorage

Just looked at their menu, they serve "Joe's Special!! I've had that recipe for years!! Love it (just never seen it served at a restaurant!).

EOC4ME 04-13-2008, 02:01 PM Let's hope our luck holds out for another SUNNY SATURDAY the 19th!
I picked up an extra pair of 2-Way Radios for pit stops & wildlife sightings. Always good to have these little toys along for chatting.
If you've been sitting on the sidelines, now is your time to post! Don't sit at home, while we're eatting at Harley's and visiting Seward and seeing the town.
The Pups don't bite (too hard ;-)),

dej34 04-14-2008, 12:24 AM I will have to be flakey on deciding until Thursday when I find out if I work Saturday. I haven't been gainfully employed in a month or so with all this relocating business so I'm feeling a bit guilty and slackerish! It's hard work being an Alaskan tourist!
EOC4ME 04-14-2008, 10:32 PM It's now or never! ;-) Research will be your ploy!
Your two cute little friends will have a GOOD TIME, I promise! :D
Being slackerish for only 1 more Saturday won't close their doors!
Hear from you later in the week,
Glenn in Anchorage

Alaskan_Toaster 04-15-2008, 01:54 AM C'MON DEBBIE!! It will be the most relaxing time you've had since you've been here (OK, except for the Moose's Tooth).:D
Even AK tourists need a break every now and then!! We have made the drive a few times, an it is REALLY very scenic!! It will be a VERY relaxing time with people you've already met (and, maybe a couple of others), good converstaion, and the four-legged family members will enjoy the trip as well!!
Do you NEED any more reasons??!!:-?:lol:
ChickWhoRips 04-17-2008, 05:48 PM My friend that lives down in Seward and works at the Sealife center said that the roads are good between here and there. Hopefully we don't get any more snow before than so the drive down is nice and relaxing.
Alaskan_Toaster 04-17-2008, 07:00 PM According to MSn's weather guess, er, forecast, Seward is supposed to be mostly cloudy and 48 on Saturday!! Sounds like it will be a great time as well as a beautiful drive.:):D
OK Debbie, it's Thursday, any news, yet??!!:):)
dej34 04-18-2008, 11:52 AM Fever, sore throat, coughing my guts out. Despite not having to work, it's not looking good for me. :( I haven't left the couch except to let the pups out since I got home from work yesterday afternoon.
ChickWhoRips 04-18-2008, 12:19 PM Feel better.
If you need anything let me know.
Alaskan_Toaster 04-18-2008, 08:42 PM BUMMER!! Sorry to hear that you're feeling poorly, hope it will be short lived and you will return to your lively self soon.....:):D
Will be scheduling another M&G soon (4th of July??), so, hopefully next time.... :)
EOC4ME 04-18-2008, 09:42 PM We'll Miss You Tomorrow!
