I found a much easier way to install the tweeters:

Follow all of Element-J's great instructions (incredible website at:
http://www.govst.edu/users/gallery/element-j/

But rather than getting sheet metal and tin snips (which proved to be quite
difficult, seeing as I had no tin snips), you can just get a standard
computer PCI slot cover and cut off one end.

Screw the PCI cover into your element, then you can hot-glue / screw the
tweeters onto the PCI cover and you're done!

I wouldn't suggest that you put the hot glue gun on your leg! :D

LOL @ Alien Element. I also don't have tin snips so I "liberated" my wife's garden shears. Shhh ... she doesn't know. :)

Cool idea with the PCI slot cover but I gotta ask. If you don't have tin snips how did you cut one end? hmmmm... BTW, what tweeters are those?

Lol:

The tweeters are the same that Element-J used Infinity 1001t (and they
sound alot better than the stock tweeters, which seemed to do nothing).

Instead of tin snips, I just bent off the end in a vice. It sheared off quite
nicely, then I sanded the edge down.

Normally I would've used bolt cutters, but I couldn't find my set.

The more I try to listen to the stock EX "premium" audio system, the more I realize what complete #!@$ it is. :( I keep trying to enjoy it, and I find that the more I turn it up, the worse it sounds, and I just turn it low to hide the deficiencies. It's fatiguing and quite unenjoyable. :(

Not sure I'll be able to make it all the way to the holidays before I buy replacement equipment.

At least I went with the EX for the ABS brakes, primarily, and not the audio system.

PS - why is dslreports.com in your sig, btw?

Yeah, the audio system is 'not the greatest'...

Although mine will soon be totally upgraded to:

Why is DSLReports in my signature?
I guess it's because DSLR has tons of cool forums, tutorials, very helpful
and knowledgable people, and it's like a small community. :)
